Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bag up 2 flights of stairs. Also my room faced the alleyway and it was very loud until late, other than that is was a pleasant stay.
Great location. Very nice couple running the hotel. They were very sweet to bring me an early breakfast when I had to leave for my next destination.

United StatesThe hotel could use some updating. There was a lot of unused random furniture, etc., cluttering the entry and hallways when we arrived. There were no lights on in the entry, first stairway, or reception area, and it was only 7 pm. It gave an initial feeling of being a really run-down facility. Our shower was too small for my husband to use (literally—he couldn’t fit in the tiny stall. But he’s a 6’4” former American football player. So most people will probably fit. But barely.) The shower doors were not on tracks, and were difficult to open and close. The furniture in our room was old and run-down. There was a chair, but it was very rickety and we didn’t dare sit on it. We pulled up pictures of our online booking and were surprised by how different our initial impression had been from the online pictures that make this hotel look like a really nice facility. Luckily, our stay was better than our first impression, and we ended up enjoying our time in the city very much.
The location was fantastic! We were a short walk to everything we wanted to see. The included breakfast was very good. The staff were nice and helpful. The bedding was comfortable and the room was clean. I think it was a decent value for the location. our room had 3 large windows and lots of natural light. It looked out over a charming street—not another wall, like most windows in the city.

United StatesThe only weird thing was the scent. Overwhelmingly of incense or perfume or incense. It singed our nostrils and we had to keep airing the room out. Never went away for the entire trip. And look, I love candles, scents, oils, etc but this was INSANE. Like I cannot stress enough how powerful and frustrating this scent was.
Location was very central and exciting, breakfast was yummy, and staff was friendly! Also a very cute, sleepy cat at reception.

IsraelIt's because of the city itself, not the hotel - but there were only stairs, no elevator. We had trouble with our suitcases but the staff helped us with them.
We loved the hotel and the friendly and helpful staff. Great location, small and quiet. Good, sufficient breakfast.

SpainThe reception desk was only manned for a few hours a day. It felt like an impersonal service and it would have been useful to have staff around more often to help with queries etc. The staff were very nice though when they were there and mainly spoke good English. There was a city tax charged per person, per night which was not mentioned at the time of booking
Very nice little hotel in a fantastic location, easy walking distance to everything. Room was smaller than we were expecting but was adequate for a few days. Nice buffet breakfast included in the price. It was also good to have a restaurant next door. The pet cat was an added bonus but only put in one brief appearance.

United KingdomThe decor is very Venecian, but the bedroom was a little tired. The hotel is very clean though, and the bathroom was good with a nice shower. There are concrete stairs leading up to reception, and then another flight to the rooms, and no lift. Good to work off Gelato... not so good if you have mobility restraints. I would stay again, as I think it is good value for money, and the position is perfect.
The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to S.Marco Sq and 5min walk from the waterbus stop. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. They have maps on reception desk to help you get around.
