Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceAlthough the double glazing was quite efficient, car, buses and motorcycles were way too noisy in the street and didn't allow us to completely rest. The shower cubicle was too tiny and the breakfast wasn't good. The good thing is, there's a very nice café right downstairs.
The staff was very nice, the beds were super comfortable, the room had a kettle and a very high ceiling.

United StatesWe'd stay longer. Make sure your train goes to Principale! We taxi'd from our train's final stop.
Excellant location near fantastic dining and the impressive palazzi. Harbor was fun too. Room felt safe, clean, 2 min. to Principale Statione. Helpful professional staff.

IsraelThe carpet was a bit stained and needed replacing. My airconditioner did not work well so the room was a little stuffy and opening the window made it too noisy. It would have been nice to have a wholewheat bread option with breakfast and the espresso from the machine in the breakfast room was never hot.
The Hotel was in a very good location - close to the train station, not far from the port, close to good restaurants and within walking distance of some of the major attractions. The staff were all friendly, helpful and caring - I arrived early and felt very unwell and they allowed me to wait upstairs till my room was ready, they tried to get it ready faster for me and checked that I did not need additional medical help. The room was cosy and had everything I needed. The waiting room upstairs and breakfast room were beautifully decorated.

ItalyFor the price it could be a bit more renovated. The carpet floors are not very hygienic and made the room a bit dusty and the walls were dirty. However, we would definitely stay here again.
Clean facilities, space for the luggage before check in and after check out and nice staff. The location is good, a minute from the train station and a walking distance from the center. The room was spacious and had airconditioning and the bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable.

United KingdomThe room would benefit from a refurbishment, particularly the carpet. It was a bit dark in the room, and the lighting wasn't very good. However, we thought overall it was good value and it was a pleasant stay.
Great location for getting around Genova, very close to the main railway station. We liked the excellent breakfast, and the lovely staff. It was fine for a couple of nights, and we weren't bothered by noise even though our room overlooked a busy street. We liked the practical design of the kettle in the room, and appreciated the biscuits and sweets.

United StatesI upgraded to suite which is a very nice option with sitting area. Everything was nice and I have stayed many times at verious hotels in Nice by the Principe train station and would return. Wifi good. It used to be the Hotel Acquaverde but has changed names and upgraded. There is great inexpensive restaurant full of locals that is a 5 minute walk: Trattoria da Mario. Easy walk to see the sights. Nice, helpful staff. Breakfast good. When I come back to Genoa, I wll stay at this hotel

LithuaniaWiFi worked very badly, in the room and in the common area too. I had to use my mobile data for having a conference in Google Meets. The WiFi was enough only for using Instagram
The location of the hotel was good, near the train station and not far from old part and monuments. Inside the room is not loud despite the windows to the street. The bed was comfortable, there was TV, fridge and the kettle (a big plus) with a collection of different teas. The bathroom was nice and clean

ItalyEverything was fine.
The room was large, with a comfortable bed, a kettle, a fridge, hairdryer, and a safe and a good choice of teas. The location is great, very close to the main railway station. The staff is very kind. I asked for an iron and the receptionist soon found one for me.

RussiaThere is no central heating, the ceiling in my room was quite high (the installed air conditioner couldn`t heat up enough such a big volume of air) and there was some chilly air going in the corridor next to my room (from the upstairs?), so unfortunately I got a cold. The shower hose was leaking.
The staff were nice, the location is good (near the central railway station), the metro station is 10 minutes walk. When I arrived there was a compliment for the guests (some tasty cookies and tea). The common areas in the hotel are lovely decorated. The room was cleaned every day. Grazie!
