How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We didn't like the Stairs as I have trouble walking. That was the only fault

The apartment was stunning. Beautifully decorated and fitted out. Great location and close to the train station. Sylvia's touches for our anniversary made it a stay to remember. Wish we had more time there.

A lift would help. But once you reach the space it was well worth it.
What an amazing place to stay! There is everything you need! You can cook a meal, or just relax and enjoy televisions. The host was beyond helpful.

The room itself was very clean and well designed. The best part of the property however was the manager, Ms Silvia. We were put in a very tight spot because I wasn't able to rent a car as planned. Silvia went above and beyond her responsibilities and helped to arrange for transport to and from Florence to Tuscany. She was truly a life saver. We appreciate all her help.

Large modern studio apartment with modern fixtures and fittings. Very thoughtfully put together, ideal for travellers. Good fast WiFi, kitchenette, dining area. Very comfortable bed and amazing shower. Host communicated well throughout and provided a map of local recommendations which we used often. Very good location near Arno river. Only 5 mins walk from SMN train station and 10-15 mins walk to the Duomo

We loved our stay at Oro Nero, albeit brief. I wish we would have stayed here a bit longer then a one night stay, if we travel to Florence again I wouldn't think twice about staying here. The location is a bit far from all the tourist highlights, but not too far, it was a 15 minute brisk walk from Ponte Vecchio back to Oro Nero. The room was overly spacious, meticulously clean and very relaxing. It was nice to have a mini kitchen in the room and a table to sit at (we didn't have this in our other three stays while in Italy) and the hairdryer was a Bayliss brand (best hairdryer of Italy and in Florence, LOL!). The location was quiet (which is a huge benefit of where Oro Nero is located). Silvia was overly hospitable with her communication, setting up transportation options and offering recommendations. No need to look any further, make your life easy and your vacation top notch, just stay at Oro Nero!

The apartment is very nice and clean, the bed is both comfortable and roomy. We did not do any cooking but the kitchen is well equipped to do so. We did enjoy the caffe and tea provided. Within a few blocks are great food options and a grocery or two. Silvia was kind and helpful, her restaurant recommendations were amazing.

We stayed for 3 nights in Florence and this was a very comfortable stay. The place is tidy and clean, located near the train station. It will take about 15-20 minutes walk to reach the city’s main attractions. Our host was the most excellent, always attentive to our needs and easy to communicate with.

We loved this property , there was a very easy and clearly communicated self check-in process together with refreshments that were very gratefully received and made us feel so welcome . The property is beautifully presented , everything is pristine and super clean . The bed was comfy too with beautiful linen and super soft fluffy towels . All of Florence’s attractions are within easy walking distance and the train station only a 5 minute walk too. There are a plethora of cafes & restaurants to choose from. We certainly recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed. The owner is attentive and kind . Nothing is too much trouble .

Pillows weren't very comfortable unfortunately but that's the only negative!

Very stylish apartment in walking distance to all the sights in Florence in a quiet area. A true haven after long days of sightseeing. The owner provided us with lots of information about the area and replied quickly via text message when we had queries.

My only complaint is the bathroom sink is kind of small, it looks great but not the most practical.
The room was great, very stylish. The location was quite convenient, easy to get to via tram from the airport, walking distance to a lot of the sights. The bottle of wine was a nice bonus too!
