How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room is clean. I am kind of surprised that my bed has been re-made everyday, when I thought it is a backpackers hostel. Oh, location is also great.

A bit expensive, nothing outrageous though.
Good location, not far from both the city-centre and the two main train stations. Nice, clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet street. Staff was helpful, both check-in and check-out sorted super quick.

Not much, but I couldn’t find a nice courtyard shown in the photos on the hostel website. Another thing, I t’d have been nice if we were given a personal bath mat instead of communal ones provided.
It is fairly close to Termini (11mins walk), the room was quiet, the staff were friendly and the facility was clean.

The bathrooms aren't very clean. There are lockers but are put outside the rooms and are very small. The staff moved some other guests stuff from one room to another without notifying them or askimg for consent, that is completely not okay.
The hostel is like 30 minutes from the center. In the room each bed has a socket and a lamp. The staff are nice. It is possible to store luggage before check in and after check out.

The light in the room might be better, little lamps close to beds would be better than sconces, but when the roommates are polite there is no problem with sleeping time and using lights :)
Very good localisation, next to Termini station and also city center, good contact with the hotel and clear information about price and conditions, clean nice and big room with option only for female. Very nice for short stay.

The way the beds were placed in the room to me was very weird or maybe I am just used to bunk beds (with privacy curtains). Whenever someone would wake up and make noise, turn on the lights etc. it bothered everyone in the room. Most of the ladies were considerate but there are always a few exeptions. So much noise coming from the street side as well. The beds were not really comfortable. They squeak and move. No extra pillows either. Btw be careful when going to the other side of termini as it's a bit shady. Also overall the place overcharges for a room but I feel like that is in Rome in general...
I liked the bathrooms. Especially the one right across from my dorm. It was spacious and clean. Lots of light coming in too. Our room was kept clean by the sweetest cleaning lady ever. The people working reception were nice, minus the lady that checked me in on the 5th. She was quite rude. The little rooftop terrace was also cute. The location was quite good. Roma termini is walking distance but also a few of the city's highlights (if you like walking at least :p). Lots of restaurants in the area too. They let me store my luggage for free on my check out day. Ps they also have a breakfast option.

The doors/walls are not soundproof so we could here everything that was going on in the hall
It’s my second time staying here. The location is amazing, very close to metro and train station Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, friendly staff

I would advise giving it too high a rating as it would lead to high tariffs for other guests in future. As is, you may have to pay e 150 at peak for a room No air conditioning in summer. No ensuite for the room. What you pay is what you get !
Near to eateries. Clean bedroom and bathrooms, good security, storage for luggage. Roof top lounge

Not much luggage storage. The general design of the rooms doesn't allow for any privacy.
Really close to Roma Termini train station. Rooftop terrace was nice. Great breakfast spread that is value for money.

The bathrooms could be cleaned more often.
The room was comfortable with ample space and a functional common area. It was close to termini and the metro station which made it pretty convenient.

Nothing major. Quite expensive. One of the only hostels on booking.com that wasn't rated below 5 stars. Wasn't explained where things where when I came in, only learnt on my second day that there was a fridge. No hostel vibe if that's what you're looking for.
Probs one of the best hostels I've stayed in, but not really a hostel more like hotel room with more beds in it. I felt safe and it was clean.

None, everything is good for me.
The location is few minutes walk from Roma Termini. I love how spacious the room is, and each has their own bed, not a bunk bed. The bed is also comfortable, I slept well during my stay. The shower and toilet are both clean too. Lastly, the staffs are also nice.

The room looks older than the photos, the layout of the room is very odd... there is no sunlight to come in, it is difficult to dry clothes.
