Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The hosts were the best, genuinely happy to be there and helping you out planning the perfect trip or having a pleasent stay in the boutique hotel. Always available during the delicious breakfast but also quite good with tech for an easy remote check in where needed. With a lot of character, beautiful frescos and noble palazzo vibes, you should pick this accommodation and look no further.

United StatesSecond time we've stayed at this unique and superb accommodation in the heart of L'Aquila and Abruzzo. Fabiana is absolutely the best hostess one could ask for, always helpful with recommendations for activities, meals, and adventures in the area. A gem.

IsraelOur stay at Palazzo dei Pavoni was great in every aspect: the communication for the check in, the explanations for the arrival, the beautiful room and finally meeting our hosts at breakfast (which was also rich and interesting). They were helpful, knowledgeable and extremely kind. In our next visit to L'Aquila we will defiantly come back.

United StatesNothing. Truly every aspect of my stay was wonderful.
The location was perfect on a quiet side street near the town center. Many cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars are within a 5 minute walk. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were great, offering a mixture of local pastries, meats, cheese, fruit, etc. with plenty of options for any dietary restrictions. The host, Fabiana, was delightful! She made wonderful suggestions about where to eat and what to do in and around L'Aquila. I had a truly delightful stay made even better by her spot-on recommendations.

ItalyIt's a bit of a challenge to find the first time. Fabiana supplies good directions so be sure to study her instructions.
The historic palazzo has been completely remodelled to maintain its historic charm but with modern comforts. The position in the center of town is perfect (unless you want to park nearby). But the best part of Palazzo dei Pavoni is the hospitality of Fabiana and Alessandro. The building has been in their family for over 200 years. You'll never find more gracious hosts and the passion they have for their B&B and sharing their city of L'Aquila makes the stay even better.

IsraelThe disadvantage of the property that is under preservation rules, is that there is no lift - so you have quite a number of stairs to climb- for us it didnt matter but young families with prams and buggies and elderly people beware. Also note that parking is an issue and you are reliant on luck in finding a nearby place to park. For three days we were lucky but on the fourth we had a 7 minute walk from the car which is a nuisance.
LaAquila has been rebuilt/renovated since the 2009 earthquake that left it crippled so all buildings look new. The centered opened for tourism again only during COVID so the foreign tourists have not yet discovered it. We were there for 4 days and did not hear any language other than Italian- which is nice- as we really felt like tourists. The complex of rooms is run by Fabiana and her husband and they do a beautiful job of making you feel at home. Everything is new and works. Breakfast was served to us in our flat kitchen (we had a flat with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen plus another double room ensuite) and was adequate. The building itself is an 18th century renovated building with a lot of personality. Location is excellent- two minutes walk from the main street of the old city.

GermanyThey changed the breakfast to meet my request about having a vegan breakfast. And once I arrived they provided me with all the exciting sights in the city and in nearby cities and provided me with so important details about how to reach there and how I should even be dressed in case of cold weather or slippery roads. If I visit the city again, I will definitely choose this place to stay in.
