Being able to step out of the front door an look over the valley to the uninhabited caves across the way was awesome. So was having a room that was a cave, the whole town was awesome.

Nothing of note really. Jacuzzi a bit noisy the first night, it was supposed to turn off automatically on a timer, but didn't. A quick call to reception sorted that out though.

Just the best hotel room ever! The jacuzzi in the room made all the difference.

This is an experience destination. That said, it can be considered difficult to reach and challenging with luggage. Definitely not an ADA compliant place to visit (USA standard), due to steps, roads, and physical effort needed to reach destination. However, that said, if you are able just go - it's super cool and the people at the hotel are awesome.

Awesome room. Super unique and cool and the staff was excellent. This is a great location, an unusual hotel and a new experience in guest accommodations for most travelers. It's not easy to reach and getting luggage to the hotel could be difficult, but they make it work seamlessly with the porter service. Hotel really is worth the extra effort and if you can stay in the room with the private terrace, do it - it's worth it. Awesome views.

Thanks to you, the three days and two nights in Matera were very pleasant, with the best view from the door of the room, and my favorite Fanta and natural water in the refrigerator. Even if we booked only one of the cheapest standard double rooms, the view was very good, we wanted to upgrade to a larger room type for the second night, but it was booked out. The sheets and bath towels were the cleanest I had been on a 10-day trip. We took a lot of good photos, the staff were warm and friendly and made us feel relaxed, the dinner was delicious, suitable for Chinese tastes, the breakfast was rich and exquisite, there were many kinds to choose from, the cave hotel and cave restaurant were very special experiences, it would be a pity to miss! I will introduce this place to our Chinese friends. I wish you all the best

The parking arrangement was not ideal. The 'shuttle. was a car, not a van, and we had to wait 50 minutes to get a ride to the hotel. The driver took two couples who were staying at another hotel although we were waiting first.

Amazing location, helpful and pleasant staff. We especially enjoyed Angela at the bar and restaurant. And the breakfast was a delicious assortment of homemade pastries, breads and cakes made by Fausta! We had a wonderful time!

A bit more info about parking would have been nice to know prior to arriving. They did send a very informative whats app message they day before but prior knowledge would have been great. Parking is only available via a public lot that is not super close to the hotel. This means you need to carry your luggage through flights of cobblestone steps and streets in order to get to a place where cars are allowed. Not a dealbreaker for us but could be for those who are older or not super able to carry luggage for a longer distance!

Gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location. My wife, who is high maintenance (love her ;) and who doesn't do any of the bookings when we travel was super pleased and impressed with the hotel and the room. Breakfast was solid as well! We only stayed for one night but I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Matera!

Amazing Hotel with amazing views. Tricky to get to but the hotel staff took care of our luggage do we didn’t have to carry anything. We probably had the most beautiful suite with a hugh terrace. Comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff were so friendly and kind. I can’t think of a better place to stay.

Breakfast is quite limited and the restaurant service was slow at times. Other than a restaurant (and a beautiful view) the hotel does not really have any facilities - which was fine for us, but it felt more like a luxury guest house.

The room was gorgeous, very clean and it was a real experience to stay in the caves. Our view was stunning and the reception staff were very helpful.

Wow! We booked a suite with terrace and the view from our private terrace was unbelievable with views over the Sassi and the caves. The room was very spacious, gorgeous decor with a roll top bath in the room and a separate bathroom with walk in shower. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We used their partner company to park and taxi to the edge of the Sassi where we were greeted by a porter to take our bags and guide us through a short walk in the winding old world to the hotel. They communicated in advance of our arrival to arrange everything! This stay really made our trip and was my favourite part of our holiday. This beautiful city is right outside your door and you’re able to forget about the modern world the entire time. 10/10 thank you!

The pool chlorine smell is very strong. The breakfast is very limited. Only dolce. However, I’m not a breakfast person but there should be more option when my room price was 400$ a night
