Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe ground floor room "Corte" which looks like a castle room, was unfortunately very humid with inadequate ventilation, so the bed sheets felt a bit damp and there was a wet smell in the air. There is another Palazzo Raho Suites that's closer to the private parking. This one is further away and needs some walk.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They are also very responsive for the requests. It's very hard to find a parking spot near Cefalù and having a private car park for the B&B is a big plus. The location is very close to the cathedral.

GermanyWhile a very lovely, old property, only a couple of the rooms are on the ground floor. As there is no lift, the rest of the rooms require climbing many steps to what is called the 2nd floor (in the US this is typically called the third floor). My room was on the “second” floor, as was the breakfast room. For anyone with mobility issues, these stairs would definitely be an issue. This building is illegal for tourists to drive in the center of the old town of Cefalu and you will incur a ticket. This older center is a pedestrian zone with very narrow alleyways between both sides of the buildings. Unless you are lost (as we were) you do NOT want to drive in this restricted zone, where many people are wandering, bicycling, riding motor bikes, or foolishly driving to hunt for their B&B. Palazzo Rayo has a designated parking area a few small streets away from their B&B, but parking there requires that you carry you suitcase or pull it on rough cobble stones to reach their location.
Recently renovated building, with clean, modern Sicilian feel. The bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable, air conditioning was available, and the bathroom was large with new fixtures. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were very accommodating.

PolandOld style of rooms. No elevator - but understandable considering how old is of the building.
Centraly located. Nice croissants at breakfasts. They offer parking in a reasonable walking distance.

United StatesUnderstanding that the building was old but the room is need of some upgrades. The mattress was old and very uncomfortable. The bathroom had no fixtures to hold soap or other toiletries.
Friendly staff and great location.

United KingdomThe breakfast was nothing like the pictures they show. First the breakfast is not in the hotel and second is only a coffee and a croissant in a caffe nearby. I asked in the caffe if it was possible to change the coffee for an orange juice but they said no. A bit disappointed as in the pictures I could see fruit, juice and cereals.
Location is great and the receptionist is very very helpful and made us feel welcome.

Greecebasic room, nothing extra (no water in the room). parking was a long way from the room and very difficult if you have suitcases as it’s uphill on a cobbled road and no help from anyone for the bags, also we were on the 2nd floor, no lift. The breakfast should be ordered separately. the receptionist has a very bad attitude and spoke in a very rude way. we had a problem where we parked in the car park as it wasn’t clear which part of the car park we should use.
very central location in the old town. Fabio was was a decent person.

United KingdomNo lift. Breakfast was just OK. Although the location is good it is very noisy. There were people drinking outside till past 1am mid week and then in the morning there were trucks around 0600. There is no lift which makes it hard for luggage.
Location.
