This property is very grand and the room was great . Unfortunately we were very early in the season so the Air con wasn’t working and the swimming pool was empty.

There was a wedding in the hotel and could not have access in the garden and pool after 7pm.

The shower was rather small, even if the bathroom itself was spacious enough. The scrambled eggs and bacon in the morning were cold (but I didn't challenge the staff and therefore also don't know what they would have done about it...)

Nice place for staying a night or two if you're by car and can explore the environment and the next villages yourself. The hotel is not within walking distance of anything. Beach access needs transportation, but the staff can organize that for you. The staff is friendly, in general English spoken and very helpful. Even with the bar already closed at 23:00, the night porter showed me the choice of beers they have, asked if I wanted a glass and obviously had the time for a chat.

Understandably there was very limited staff but no pool attendant, no bar staff etc meant a lot of fending for oneself. I was hoping for some pampering and luxury!

This truly is a quality property in such an unexpected location. Unfortunately there were small service fails that, while not serious, certainly are not acceptable in the 5-star category. The shuttle I booked, confirmed and reconfirmed was not at the station. The electronic key was faulty. The phone line completely dead and not repaired during my whole stay. A simple request for a show sponge went unfulfilled. Similar instances occurs with the meal service. All this, of course, must be weighed against the welcome of the staff and the intention to deliver a quality experience.

The weddings

All facilities not available due to weddings everyday. Pool unusable , gym not existent and bar consistently shut . Unfortunate as the hotel is beautiful and staff are great !!

This hotel could be so much better. The air conditioning in the room didn't function during the day. I needed to do some work whilst there and it became unbearably hot. When I went out later in the day, the staff would turn it back on. Not sure how, as no amount of fiddling with the controller would work (?) Although breakfast was good, I couldn't work out whether any evening meal was on offer. The restaurant seemed closed (no staff and lights off). Only when I had been out for food and returned later in the evening, did I find one couple at a table being served. Given this hotel is made out to be a resort hotel, it clearly isn't. Yet it could be. Won't be staying here again.

It's a nice looking hotel, both inside and out. The hotel is conveniently located for all the local towns (if you're driving) not so if you're walking.

Staff were at times unhelpful. The staff wouldn’t provide an iron and insisted you use their laundry service which was average. We also booked shuttles through the hotel which were always late, including up to half an hour late on the day we were leaving.

Staff wasn’t friendly and facility was falling apart. Water was leaking from my ceiling, no one took care of it. AC wasn’t working. Door was locked half of the time (even with a key (not just me but half of the guests I knew there had the same issue). Sink was clogged, water from the shower was BROWN and coffee in the morning tasted like salt water and gave me food poisoning. No one apologized for any of these inconveniences, moreover they seemed annoyed that I complained. I do not recommend this hotel.

The place looks incredible, from the outside. The breakfast was fantastic and location ideal.

August2022 The BAD: During our 8 night stay, 5 nights were disrupted by Weddings/Pool Parties or "Events", one of which started at Midnight and ended at 5:30am. There are precious few Resort activities and what there were ended up restricted due to the above Celebrations and events, for instance Pool access was not available most evenings and anyway the poolside bar closes at 1800, pool not always cleaned after evening functions resulting in corks and bottle-tops littering the pool, poolside and grassed areas The UGLY: Initial complaints to management were met with a smile, and a claim that "there were no more Weddings planned"(disingenuous as they neglected to mention other events Events that were obviously on the agenda for later in the week). The response to our claim for compensation was accompanied by a proffered disclaimer document attempting to prevent "any negative review", which would have needed to be signed before the 10%(max) compensation would be paid.

August2022 The GOOD: Room size is generous as is Breakfast and food in general. The decor is photogenic in keeping with the primary function of this destination as a Wedding/Celebration hosting venue albeit somewhat dated by todays standards. Booking.com Customer Services were understanding and reacted well to the situation once appraised of the problems.

On our first night management allowed a wedding to take place that had a DJ and played music so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk until 2:00 in the morning. Managements apology the next day was "they asked them to play softer music". The second night there was another wedding that shot off fireworks for half an hour at midnight. This ia totally unacceptable when you allow a party to ruin the stay for all your other guest. The Hotel is very dated and run down. Our room was overun with ants both in the bathroom and the bedroom which was disqusting.

Breakfast was very good.
