Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt wasn't so easy to find. Would have been better if it was a little closer to the beach but that's just a minor thing.
The staff were fantastic. The view and location were excellent. The hotel had old school charm.

Monaco- the €10 per pax Breakfast is to be improved. Our friend took breakfast and advice us to not go. so we choose to have breakfast in a local cafe by the beach for the same price. - room deco will do with a little of love. Our room was really out dated. Our friends room was also out dated but the deco seemed more charming.
Beautiful Belle Époque building, parking is handing -remember to book- great location, few minutes by walk to the beach and main restaurants … Nice view from the bedrooms. We had a lovely balcony and our room was spacious enough. I will recommend highly this hotel if you are looking for a central spot in Ospedaletti and you are not too regarding on the furniture :) ps : A/C worked well.

Japan- the doors were very heavy and extremely loud when closing. - the housekeeping starts working early at 8:30 am and you could hear everything. - very thin walls, you can hear your neighbours. - bad wifi, would not recommend if you rely on constant strong wifi connection. - bring your own towels, the towels given by the hotel are fabric-made towels.
- extremely clean - to have been granted an upgrade as a free special request - beautiful view of the sea from the room - very good location - good AC - Enough furniture to store your belongings - very friendly staff speaking english, french, italian. - big bathroom - big room

FranceThe towels were terrible. I wouldn't call them towels. They were more like kitchen towels. The bed covers for this time of the year were not adequate. The matress was dumped so I hardly slept because I was very uncomfortable. I had to leave earlier as I couldn't sleep there another night. The hotel in general needs refurbishing.
The location was good. The front desk person was nice and polite.

SpainThe room wasn't in good contitions (the wardrobe couldn't be closed well, the bathroom was old, the elevator too old ...). There was a mini private parking, but it's too small for everyone. The breakfast wasn't good (no hot food, and the pastries were too old).

United KingdomNothing to report here.
Everything was amazing. It’s like being transported back one hundred years, or spending time in an Agatha Christie novel. The hotel is a little dated but that’s where the charm is. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There is parking at the front and a complementary, continental breakfast which is fabulous. The views from the rooms are spectacular. I wouldn’t change a thing.

NorwaySome antiquated features. The lifts are very old and get stuck when people do not realise they need to close the doors manually. Also the key card that needs to be used for the lighting gets in the way of closing the room door, so it can get damaged. Breakfast selection a bit basic and inconsistent.
Great location, charming old palace, the room with balcony and sea view is fabulous, can sit outside and sip your wine or coffee looking at the sea. Good wifi. Excellent food at dinner.

SwedenThe ’parking available’ should be taken with more than one pinch of salt. The same can be said about the air conditioning.

GermanyThe hotel is absolutely run down place, that would have been ok for 70 Euros but not for 180. 1.bath. The armature Was brocken, the temprature of the water changed All the time, was more often cold, than warm. The smell of canalisation in the room. 2.the furniture was obvioulsly inherted from soviet recreation house after the Fall of soviet Union. 3.the Breakfast was very poor, Croissants and bakery were dry and my Kids refused to it at all there. Apart from Croissants, there was Cornflakes, one sort of cheese and saysage. The cheapest one could find on the market. One had to wait for a cup of Coffee for a long time. 4.internet Connecticn Was poor as well. 5.the beach of the hotel is to be paid and is located 10 km away. The resume :the hotel was a flop. Never again. 😫
The staff was freindly, but in all the hotel is bejond critik. I had read the commenrs before and did not believe then, but the hotel is really bad. The only good thing about it is it's location.

United Statesthe property needs renovation. our rooms paid with sea view but the windows are very difficult to open and close. the wardrobe door did not close so I have to put a chair to block it. talked to the front desk and requested a fix but never did. we stayed for 4 nights. my sister’s room was found unlocked after the daily room cleaning service. she complained to the front desk but was given an unreasonable answer ☹️
