Best hotel we have ever stayed in. Very spacious room, with an enormous bathroom which was originally a cave. New hotel, very clean, very well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff. Perfect location in a non-crowded part of the old town. No doubt - a perfect place to stay.

We had a Hamam in the bathroom but not so sure if that worked properly. Nevertheless, thats just a bonus so won‘t keep us from coming back.

Advertised as having a fireplace and that's the main reason we chose this place. The fireplace existed but was not operational. It's winter and we were very disappointed on not being able to use a fireplace.

Comfortable rooms, and beds. Great location, friendly staff. We would stay again.

The closest I can come up with a negative is that the great shower they had never seemed to get the sprays to work (some type of spray that scented the shower). Personally, we just laughed about it.

Wow! An amazing town and an equally amazing stay at this five star hotel. The staff was great, breakfasts awesome (and man who waited on us was a class act like from a Downton Abbey scene) and room (including view) much bigger & better than expected. The location meant a lot of uphill walking, but that's part of its charm. We have already told a number of people about this wonderful place.

We ended up paying quite a bit more for an upgrade since the room we booked, was less appealing than the one my daughter had, plus we wanted to be adjacent to her room.

The location was great with a beautiful view of the caves. The rooms were spotlessly clean. It’s was fun the sleep in a cave.

It was all exceptional - including excellent staff and breakfast. By the way - don't know why there is a sad face with this review I literally couldn't have been happier - and I'm not a happy person.

If you come to Matera you have to stay in a cave. If you're gonna stay in a cave then splash out and stay in a luxury cave. I don't normally splash out but I feel this accommodation absolutely delivered an exceptional experience - go on you know you're worth it!

The property is beautifully kept. It’s spotless! Nothing to dislike.

The property is located right in the middle of everything you want to see! Walk out your door, take a few steps, and you’re on the threshold of where you’re going, whether it’s sightseeing, hiking the gorge or getting a bite to eat. It’s perfectly located! Staff was also very friendly, dedicated to keeping the place spotless, and ready to help with our every need. It was a true highlight of our 10 day Puglia trip!

Can’t decide if the hotel design, scent, location or the service was more exceptional… It is a unique hotel, worth every effort to stay there. Their service is top notch. We had two bedrooms (4 adults) and everyone was so pampered and we felt relaxed, happy, woke up in beautiful bedding and ambience. Did I mention the scent of their rooms?? Fantastic stay, we will happily always go back!

Honestly, it's hard to think of anything except the bathroom mirror was set too high for me!

Our stay at Pianelle Resort in Matera was exceptional. Its prime location in the heart of Matera's Piazza San Pietro Caveoso was unbeatable. The hotel's modern design seamlessly blended with the ancient surroundings, and the breakfast surpassed all our expectations. What truly stood out was their proactive approach, arranging off-site parking and a stress-free shuttle service for us before our arrival. Our room was a luxurious haven with a comfy mattress, plush pillows, and a spa-like shower complete with bathrobes. A truly unforgettable experience!

Location is excellent. Stunning property that mixes history with comfort. Everything is new and beautiful, the bathrooms were luxurious, the bar/cafe and breakfast were excellent, and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. They were very helpful navigating parking and coordinating a shuttle since transportation to the Sassi area is restricted. We wished we had booked a longer stay here in Matera!

We had an amazing weekend at Pianelle Resort. The location is perfect to visit the area of Sassi di Matera, near restaurants and bars. We stayed with our toddler and the stuff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The Suite 38 its stunning, big and super relaxing. We will be definitely going back to Pianelle Resort. Thank you for an amazing stay.
