The unit is in a great location, it's spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and shower was excellent. Response was always prompt when I had questions via Whatsapp. The hosts are very welcoming and went out of their way to make certain my stay was enjoyable. Guiseppe was incredibly kind in giving me a tour of their facility and other area, and in sharing his knowledge of Matera. Staying at this location exceeded my every expectation and made my time in magical Matera a highlight of my vacation.

That we could only stay one night :)

There's a lot of options to stay in/among the sassi in Matera, and we decided on this place as we did want to stay in an authentic building, without the cons of being in an actual cave. Our room, actually three spacious rooms, were very comfortable with a lot of special and functional design touches. Tiziana was very responsive before we arrived, and Giuseppe gave us a warm welcome and a tour of their passion project. It was nice to be able to leave our luggage after check-out. It's one of the more easily accessible accommodation options in the sassi area, maybe 200m walk from the main piazza. We had slightly more than carry-on size luggage and no problem carrying them up and down.

The host met us at the bus stop to take us personally to the place and have time to introduce us to the history of the city. That was a great first impression. She had prepared a map of the city with the places we should visit, a list of restaurants she recommended, and a surprise that made us fall in love with Matera. The apartment was cozy, refined to the smallest detail. Thank you Tiziana, it was unforgettable.

We had a wonderful time in Matera starting with a surprising experience prepared by our host. We had a private guide in the sasi with so much interesting information. Thank you very much Giuseppe. We should have stayed more days.

It’s hard to follow the google map if you walk and carry a heavy suitcase.

It is near to everywhere and was surprise when they show us a tour about the lounge and about how its existed years ago and about the ancient well existing within the area. The room is clean and new with full of facility and nice outdoor area.

It is perfect

An enchanting stay awaits at this charming B&B nestled in the heart of Matera's historic Sassi district. From the moment we arrived, our host welcomed us warmly, showcasing our spacious and very clean rooms before treating us to a tour of the property. His extensive knowledge of the building's rich history added a fascinating layer to our experience, making our stay unforgettable.

We made this booking very last minute and the Giuseppe was so gracious to meet us and explain everything about the accommodation and Matera. He provided a 45 minute "tour" of the cave and cistern that are part of the hotel. He provided us with information on where to eat as well as the best way to spend our next day exploring in order to get the most out of our short time in Matera. He really went above and beyond and made our stay there very memorable. The location is perfect, right in the old town and close to good restaurants. The room itself was very spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. We were traveling with our 11 y.o. and 14 y.o. kids and they enjoyed their single beds and space. The internet worked well and the bathroom was nice and big. There is no door for the bathroom but it downstairs so it is still very private. The parking was only a 5 minute walk away and was €20 for the night (we put a few things in a backpack and left the luggage in the car as there are a lot of stairs to deal with if you are rolling a suitcase around). Would highly recommend this place for a stay in Matera.

The hosts clearly put a lot of thought and effort to make this apartment welcoming: water in the fridge, everything very pretty, wonderful towels. Excellent use of the space. A small table and chairs outside the front door for sitting. They went out of their way to help us and we’re grateful.

Giuseppe and Tiziana are not only great hosts, but very warm and kind people. I really appreciated our communication (which was extremely prompt) and small personal exchanges. They will definitely go an extra mile for you and make you feel like you a very special guest. The place is extremely lovely!

Orientation to the apartment and the common space, which contains an ancient cavern, was exceptional . The spaces are architectually exceptional and tasteful . Location terrific.

The property has been immaculately renovated. The accommodation has an amazing history and Giuseppe’s passion for the area, the property and the history was infectious. The warmest, most welcoming reception we have ever had - anywhere in the world ! If you’re going to Matera - make sure you stay here.

Amazing stay at Matera. Room was very clean, bed super comfortable. Location good. Giuseppe & Tiziana were perfect hosts. Giuseppe tells a lot of Materas history and I was able to visit the watertank, which was located under the house. They also give me a map and list of places where to visit in Matera. That helps a lot to navigate in the sassi area. So thankful about that and everything else.

everything was amazing ! a definite must if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the Sassi. Our warm welcome by the owner Giuseppe and his unexpected brilliant introduction tour of the accommodation was fantastic! so much history in this phenomenal place! immaculately clean and very comfortable and we are so greatful to have stayed here and highly recommend!!!

A fabulous place to stay. Comfortable bed. Brilliant location in the sassy or old town. I enjoyed walking around but recommend comfortable shoes and an easy to manage suitcase…you’ll be going uphill and downhill to get around.
