Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is an old hotel and the place looks tired and lacked the volume of guests to fill such a grand place and create an atmosphere. It is exceptional inside and misses vistors to create the Grand feel it deserves.
It is on the main shopping street and right next to Rome's Bond Street - on the way to the Spanish steps, 1 block away.

United StatesThe room really wasn’t up to the quality of the rest of the hotel. The parquet floors were ruined with water damage. The shower had an interesting new modular addition- but not up to the elegance of the rest of the hotel. The upholstery of the sofa and the outdoor cushions was tired and dirty.

Kenyathe beds were not so comfortable and the ventilation/AC didn’t work properly, which made the rooms quite uncomfortable
The hotel is a beautiful old historical building. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The rooms are spacious but we had problems with the temperature due to air conditioning not working properly. The location is excellent with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby:

United Kingdomall the above
great central location and a beautiful hotel. Downsides… mix up on checking in and therefore wasn’t given best room. No wifi in room first two days so had to change room. TV didn’t work (not even a Smart TV!) Tried to call reception several times with no answer and they don’t call you back. Really cold at night (hot in the day but no heating put on until November). Was charged €20 for them to take breakfast up onto their own terrace! this was apparently the room service fee but it was not sent to our room! Breakfast buffet was closed and so was terrace restaurant. It was not clear on breakfast menu which was the one included in the rate… I was assured all breakfasts were included… ended up paying €66 for two coffees, two little cakes and for it to be sent up to the breakfast terrace. We booked two separate rooms but we were only given one breakfast between the two of us and each time charged for the coffee which showed on the menu that it was free. Not impressed with some of the staff attitudes. Really felt I was being ripped off. Yes it’s a beautiful hotel but would not recommend I’m afraid.

United Kingdomto say it is 5 star is a stretch. felt more like a 3 or 4 given how dated the place is. spoke to a local who said it needs closing down and full decorated before it allows guests. We had a bath with no shower head, told reception it was a lot of money for a room with no shower but apparently we need to specify that we want to shower.
the location is perfect, walking distance to all of the sightseeing attractions and nice restaurants. Taxi rank just across the road, lovely rooftop bar/restaurant, friendly and helpful staff.

SwedenI recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Plaza in Rome, and it felt like stepping into a fancy old movie. The hotel is really grand and fancy, with beautiful decorations everywhere. The people who work there are super nice and helpful. They made me feel really welcome and took care of everything I needed during my stay. My room was like something out of a dream, with a big comfy bed and a nice view of the city. And the food at the hotel was delicious—I especially loved the breakfast! Overall, staying at the Grand Hotel Plaza made me feel like royalty. It's a really special place that I would recommend to anyone looking for a fancy and comfortable stay in Rome.

United KingdomPerhaps, it will complete the experience to have room service, but then, you have a bar downstairs.
If you like to immerse in history, you would certainly like Piacentini’s Hotel Plaza Rome. You will transport yourself in time and enjoy its high ceilings, rich frescoes and marbles. You will take pleasure in its multiple receptions, in the peaceful quiet atmosphere, that makes time stop. Prominent figures such as Charles de Gaulle, Umberto Eco, Pietro Mascagni, Sir Winston Churchill, Gianni Versace, George Clooney, to name a few, enjoyed the same tranquility you will do. It’s surrounded by charming restaurants and shops, thanks to its central location. The staff is really fantastic, alert, helpful and always with a smile. A wonderful, peaceful experience, plenty of luxury. I will highly recommend it.
