Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsMinor downsides were the uncomfortable pillows and poorly functioning air conditioning. The latter could be uncomfortable at high temperatures in summer. Keep in mind that you absolutely need a car for exploring this region!
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Excellent Italian breakfast and proper daily housekeeping. The location and view from the terrace and pool are breathtaking. There are possibilities for dinner in consultation with the staff. Dinner was good value for money. The appartment offered plenty of storage space, comfortable mattresses and a fridge.

BrazilNothing, it’s just amazing.
The property is a beautiful getaway in the heart of Tuscany. One hour from Pisa, 35 minutes from Firenze, 40 minutes from Siena, and 10 minutes from Chianti, it’s amazingly located. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, the terrace in front of the reception where the breakfast can be served is stunning, with a lovely view to the Tuscan hills, it really looks like a painting. The room is comfortable, spacious, extremely clean, organized, tidy, beautiful and well maintained. The AC can keep the room both fresh and warm when the days are a bit chiller. Beatrice and her daughter Clizia are just the most heartwarming, welcoming, lovely hosts you can dream of. They will always be there for you, offer dinner reservations and recommendations, and welcome you with a beautiful glass of wine by their own production. Poggio Alla Lame is perfect, we absolutely loved this place and the energy of the surroundings.

VietnamNothing at all. Obviously you are in the middle of tuscany so would just advise a lot of bug spray and also a car (we didn't have one and it is not easy to get around you are limited with buses, but still doable to get from Florence to Poggio Al lame)
An Absolute dream. I feel the pictures do not do this place justice. The pool is amazing and the view over tuscany is absolutely incredible. Beatrice and her family run this place and they are so welcoming and friendly, they make you feel at home, and could not be any more accommodating. They offer breakfast and dinner every day, and the dinner is home cooked food, amazing! Also offering their fresh wine and olive oil which again was incredible. Wish we could of stayed longer than 2 days, but will definitely come back for some relaxation and to explore tuscany some more. 10 ******!!!

Beatrice is the most wonderful host i have ever met. Everything was great, starting from the staff ,rooms (cleaned everyday), pool with stunning view, food-breakfast and 5 course dinners. They make their own olive oil and wine, both delicious! Poggio has a great location, close to Florence (better go by train), Pisa, San Gimignano and so on. It is also near the highway. Overally it was a dreamy stay and we recommend it to everyone.

United KingdomFantastic time. On arrival, we weren’t sure what the dinner would entail, but we are so glad we went for it! The food was delicious (authentic Italian cuisine made in the farmhouse kitchen), the setting was beautiful and the hosts were amazing! We had dinner each night we stayed and we were not disappointed. The wine and olive oil served with dinner are made on the property. The pool has a spectacular view. The location couldn’t be better. We’ll be back!

United KingdomI loved everything but if I had to pick something, then for a breakfast-spoilt nation as we Germans are, the breakfast didn't quiiiite have enough options of cheese, fruit and bread. That said, there were of course plenty of options and good coffee etc etc. Also - Beatrice did go and specifically buy soya milk for me which was heated up for me every morning as I arrived in the breakfast hall - you hardly ever get such personalised care and service, so I am really grateful!
Poggio alle lame is such a wonderful and peaceful place in the middle of the beautiful Tuscan hills. The house and setting is absolutely stunning, with a great and big infinity pool overlooking the hills. The owner Beatrice and her daughter Clizia are incredibly welcoming and kind, as is the entire team :) The dinners and wine there are just incredible, really cheap and all made with such love. Couldn't recommend this place more,. it is absolutely wonderful!!
