Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location, close to metro and buses, quiet. Room is basic but it is everything you need when you want to explore the city and just have a nice and clean place to sleep and shower.

PortugalThe rooms are on the smaller side, which might be a consideration for those needing more space. Overall, it's a good option for those prioritizing location and affordability.
Hotel Positano in Rome offers an excellent location, providing easy access to many of the city's iconic landmarks and vibrant neighborhoods. The hotel is a great value for money, making it an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers.

AustriaWe knew we booked a small room, but we would have enjoyed some more sunlight. Our view was a closed yard, therefore the room was really dark during the day. The amount of money we paid was too much for the amenities we finally had. However, we only needed a place to sleep, since we were out all day.
The location was ok near to the termini station, the subway and bus stations. Apart from that you cannot do many things in the area. The room was really clean and the receptionists were helpful.

AustraliaThere were a lot of noises from other buildings or the corridor, definitely needed earplugs. Was fine when using plugs
Apart from the towels leaving a lot of fluff the room was it's money's worth. Central and clean, that's all we needed.

United KingdomGreat location very close to Rome termini train station, hence good and convenient link with the airport. Walking distance to Rome sights to visit (30-60 minutes away). No trill single room for a family of 4, nothing special but very nice and clean. Bathroom was clean and no issues. Polite and friendly staff at the reception desk. Cheap compared with other places to stay, yet all you need for few nights stay in Rome. Would recommend and would personally stay there again. But if you are after luxury and services, consider an alternative. If basic room is all you need, go with this hotel. This review is for Positano 2, not their alternative hotel site known only as Positano.

PortugalIt would benefit from a more modern decor, the mattresses on the single beds were a bit tough, but the double bed was just perfect.
It is really close to Termini station, so great location. The room was a good size and the shower jet was really, really good. The staff was amazing, really helpful and friendly.

PortugalNothing it was a great couple of days.
OK, I was looking for a budget hotel near the station as was travelling with my son. Anyone who knows Rome will tell you its not the cleanest district but for value and location its the best. This is not a hotel for honeymooners or someone treating the wife, your next location would be the divorce court. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff couldn't be more helpful and you won't find a better shower anywhere in the world. Also Rome is a notoriously noisy city with sirens going non stop but with the windows and shutters closed we both enjoyed a good night's sleep after a day of taking in all the sights that Rome had to offer. If you're looking for a no frills budget way to see Rome the positano is ideal !

CyprusThe building is very old and the rooms need an upgrade and care. There was mould on the ceiling, wall and bathroom, you can smell it strongly. There were stains on the walls, we found makeup-stained towels as well.
The location is great! Right by to the train and metro station, good neighbourhood. The staff is friendly and helpful.
