How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast was 10/10. Really enjoyed eating outside in the courtyard. The pool and bar were great too. The staff were really helpful with all of our requests.

The showers didn't ever feel warm enough, like they never warmed up properly especially in the mornings. We went to use the jacuzzi twice and it wasn't warm enough to use because they'd just cleaned it, even though it was still full of sand — would've been lovely for a chilly late April visit! Breakfast could've done with some more hot food to go with the eggs.
We loved the room, the big bed was comfortable, and the view was amazing. Very clean. The staff were lovely too!

The rooms are not the best from a soundproof standpoint. We could hear a bit the clients in the room next to us. Not an issue for us, but might be for very light sleepers
Hotel with the most friendliest staff. Rooms have beautiful views on the water. Very easy parking for cars. Only 10 minute walk from historic center. Highly recommend

Fantastic place with very nice pool area, quiet and relaxing, short walking distance to the center of town, close to the nice beach. Our rooms were upgraded to suites with wonderful tarraces and view :) Thank you!

Right on the road so lots of traffic noise. Very hard pillows on the beds! The towels were changed every day. This is not environmentally friendly. Guests should have the option to say if they don‘t want this.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious rooms. Close to beach and town. Great pool and pool area.

The sandy beach was not as close as first thought. Although the hotel provided a shuttle service to and from the beach a few times a day.
We had a nice room with a sea view and balcony. The hotel had a good swimming pool and a bar where you could buy snacks and drinks. It was easy to walk into the centre of Castellammare for our evening meal.

We had to ask for extra tea and milk for our room on a daily basis.
The breakfast buffet was very good. The only downside was the cooked eggs on the buffet were not kept warm. As a diabetic it would have been nice to be offered some sugar free options, i.e. jam. The swimming pool was good and we were fortunate to always be able to get a sunbed.

The elevator is rather slow to move however this is not a big problem. The hotel overall might need an overhaul in a few years. Still, this is a wonderful, relaxing and safe place to stay. The hotel was connected via underground tunnel with a beach, however there was a landslide that blocked the passage (a few yrs ago?)
The breakfast was exquisite - tasty, menu changing a little daily, very high variation of dishes and extremely children friendly (dishes, child chair). Highly recommended.

The Reception area looks a little tired and could do with a furniture refurbishment. It would also have been nice to have had a barman on duty during the evenings.
Everything about Hotel Punta Nord Est is so much more than a 3* Hotel. The location was ideal for us, just a 10 minute walk into the town of Castellamare del Golfo. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our room was a good size and the bed sheets and pillowcases were changed frequently. The towels were changed daily. The range of breakfast provided was ample and of high quality. The swimming pool and pool bar were great, immaculately kept and staffed by friendly, efficient personnel. The Hotel Receptionists were just magnificent and when my husband was taken ill (thankfully, not seriously) and had to go to hospital, they organised taxis and lunch for us on our return. This Hotel is a gem!
