Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandLovely, spacious room. The location is perfect and extremely convenient. Just a few minutes walk to the center of Rome. It is also a short walk to Termini Airport which is ideal for getting to and from the Airport. Staff were very kind and helpful with any queries we had.

United KingdomIt was old and tired. Clean, but tired. The plug got stuck in the bath; the kettle didn’t work; coffee at breakfast was weak and the fruit “juice” was cordial. These were minor issues though. I’d stay again.
The location was great - a 10 minute walk from Termini station, which is where the Leonardo airport shuttle goes to and from. Easy walking distance to Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain etc.

Excellent location; perfect walking distance for most main tourist sites, the train / bus station. All staff were attentive, polite, helpful and friendly. Food was fantastic - breakfast kept us full all day. Beds are clean and so comfy. Clean and comfortable.

GreeceThe mattress was not very comfortable (at places the memory foam material caved in) and there were no slippers provided with the room.
Well restored and preserved historic (+150 year-old) building in a very convenient central location of Rome (close to the Metro station and in front of all the main bus lines), with quiet and spacious rooms, 65" 4K TV and great breakfast (served from 7:00-10:00 and included).

United KingdomThe room is big old now; there was only one charging port working in our room, the rest was so fragile that we dared to touch. Also, on one night I forgot my left-over juice near the wall. The next day morning when I waked up I saw huge amounts of ants on it. It was quite disgusting . Final point, it’s becoming a bit pricy now since our last stay 1.5 years ago. But I guess maybe every hotel has increased the price. I would not travel in the summer since the hotel fee would likely double or triple compared to February.
It’s our second time to stay in this hotel when we are touring in Rome. The location is excellent: close to Roma termini and metro A and B, so it’s really like 10-20min walking or metro to almost all famous places. The room is a decent size; it’s clean and everything is provided.

PolandThe hotel is old and starting to show its age; some of it is charming, some of it is a slight inconvenience. Like many reviewers, we found the bathroom fixtures dated, and some didn't work very well; the shower head sprayed up onto the ceiling instead of down into the tub, so we used the handheld showerhead. Children running or people slamming doors rattled the entire room, but I suppose that comes with the age of the building. The other thing is that if you're put in a street-facing room, the windows are not soundproofed — at all. We were on the side of the building where they load and unload sets for the opera house and a crew was loading equipment until midnight, motorbikes at 7am, and Friday and Saturday nights were noisy from the bars and restaurants in the area.
When I booked the hotel, I had no idea how great the location was; I booked it based on its proximity to the train station, but it's a short walk from the archaeological park and stunning Roman ruins. The staff were nice, but not overly joyful or smiley, which is fine as we had no issues with check in or check out. Breakfast is all right; avoided the eggs, as we're pretty sure they were powdered, but there was plenty of choice in terms of breads, deli meats, and pastries. It was a great place to come back to after wandering around the city all day. Overall, it was a pleasant time, and we enjoyed ourselves!

AustraliaWalls were super thin. It felt like our neighbours were in our room. The bed wasn't super comfortable. But the worst was the coffee machines for breakfast. It made terrible coffee. You can ask for a properly made coffee which was better but not the greatest either.
Hotel is in a good location near a train station. Walking can be done to major attractions. The staff seemed okay and mostly helpful. We were able to store our luggage on the day of checkout. The breakfast was satisfactory but see note below.
