Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe breakfast could of been a bit better (i.e. more selection). It is somewhat in the suburbs of town, and for the most part the restaurants in the area weren't thrilled in serving foreigners.
The lady in charge of the hotel was the friendliest person you could ever meet, and was very helpful. The hotel was decorated well, very clean, and had a working air conditioner. The garage was tight but sufficient and modern.

SwitzerlandWe booked the suite. It's a big room but the living room area can be better.
It's a historic place nestled within a picturesque Italian village. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The hotel was also tied in with most local attractions, and you can enter museums and etc free of charge, plus free bus rides!

GermanyProbably the parking could be a bit narrow but nothing to decrease the raiting.
The palace is quite well preserved and is only available for a few rooms. The attention by the lady at the reception is very amazing, explaining you the history of the family Lodron and also supporting you to have a great dinner in a nice restaurant.

GermanyHere and there a couple of minor but unpleasant issues that could've been avoided, e.g.: 1) there's tea/coffee maker in the room, but no waste bin near it, neither any cups/spoons to make that coffee, so one needs to run to breakfast room to get some cups, 2) in the description of room that we ordered, there was a fridge mentioned, but as we received the room, there was none, 3) most of the cups and many dishes in the breakfast room are chipped! I know that some people don't bother, but in my country, giving someone a chipped cup means wishing him bad luck :-)
Wonderful old (but modernized) palazzo with a fantastic view from the window, into the inner yard and over the vine hill. On arrival, we've got a friendly introduction to the history of palazzo and its owners/facilities. Rooms have air conditioning, although it's a bit loud and impossible to regulate, e.g. putting it into a quieter night mode.

Czech RepublicNarrow entrance gate but get used to it finally. Tesla model 3/Y can handle it with 5cm gap on each side:)
Pool is really refreshing and swimable (cca 13m long), covered parking place, lady Laura is familiar and all troubles can solve out immediately. Air condition/heating system over all rooms in apartment (above the pool). Staying there was definitely positive experience.

New ZealandNothing, it was a perfect experience. I just wish we had booked for 3 or 4 nights instead of 2.
The hotel is beautiful, we received a warm welcome from Laura and Andreas and lots of information about what was available. Laura is a wonderful host. The breakfast is generous and parking on site was easy. Laura signed us up to the tourist card which gave us free entry to all the museums .

United StatesHighly recommended. Lovely property with a really interesting history involving Mozart. Ask about it when you stay there! Laura, the host, is very friendly and approachable, and truly loves what she does. A veteran professional of the tourism industry, she anticipates your needs and makes herself available to help with whatever you need. We arrived later than expected and she came over in 2 minutes to make us feel at home as we checked in. The building is charming, the grounds of the whole property feel like stepping into 15th century luxury. And add the enclosed pool and proximity to great restaurants (especially the Vineria, where Laura got us a last-minute reservation for a great dinner), this is a really comfortable experience. So nice to be in a small town, a good change of pace and respite between our visits of other larger cities.

AustriaVery hard to find something that bothered us!;) Only the air conditioning units were at first a bit loud, but we soon saw how to program them appropriately so they turn off when the desired temperature is reached.
From the beginning to the end, our stay in the renovated tract of the historical Palazzo Lodron was extraordinary! Senora Laura was both extremely charming and tremendously helpful with tips for eateries and historical information about the palace, the Lodron family and even their ties to Mozart! In the evening we enjoyed a swim with the children in the lovely indoor pool to cool down from our trip. From the seats on the private terrace our eyes feasted on the north Italian mountainsides before turning into our well laid-out apartment with plenty of space and sleeping possibilities for a tired family of 5 plus 2 dogs ;). In the morning an exquisite breakfast was offered in the enclosed (and dog-proof) garden under the picture-perfect pavilion. Again Senora Laura's warmth and understanding towards our family and dogs made us feel so welcome... we know we will have to come here again! Only a few minutes from the freeway exit, the palace apartments are conveniently situated, yet nevertheless tucked in a beautiful oasis of Italian countryside with views of the hills, gardens, terraces and stone castles. A trip to one of the exquisite baroque Rovereto churches, such as Chiesa S. Maria Assunta just 850 meters away, is highly recommended and breathtaking for those who appreciate these jewels of religious architecture. High quality wines are also offered from Palazzo Lodron's own wine cellars– we brought a sampling as gifts and for our own enjoyment. All in all, we felt our spontaneous visit was a magical moment in our trip to Italy – we were treated like royalty and enveloped in a historical environment, equipped with the modern conveniences necessary to make a pleasant and memorable stay! We can heartily recommend a stay in Relais Palazzo Lodron to anyone searching for a beautiful and unique place... Especially for families and travellers with dogs.
