Enza and Alessia were the best, made us feel totally at home. Our room was clean and comfortable, the pool was very welcome after a hot day in Matera. Enza and Alessia couldn’t do enough for us, so friendly and caring. We would highly recommend and will be back, hopefully soon!

Location, but not really…. It’s outside of Sassi bu you can still walk there pretty easily.

Great staff, super helpful. Room was beautiful and the pool was refreshing on such a hot day. Left super early in the morning so they made a nice breakfast box for us to take!!

Travelling Italy from Australia we found a true gem in the most romantic place Matera. Hotel Casino Ridola was an exceptional stay with the most amazing and attentive staff. Breakfast buffé a bit understocked during the typical morning "rush" of guests; Empty plates (bread, eggs, fruit...) slowly re-filled, patience and time required by the guests.

Fantastic staff that performed above and beyond! Even ventured off-site to get us late-night pizzas...!

A lovely hotel all round, but the fact it has on site parking and is only a 10 / 15 minute walk from the start of the 'old town' makes it a winner on location and convenience. The staff were so friendly and helpful, supplying us with a map of the town and suggesting a walking route with the top things to visit, which was a great help seeing as we only had a day to explore Matera. Rooms are nice and spotlessly clean, and the hotel's outdoor and pool space is very peaceful, a nice place to sit and read or have a drink.

Excellent hotel 15 minutes walk to Matera Old town with free parking. Loads of history & features in the Hotel, wonderful room with dome ceiling & small balcony & really neatly fitted en-suite. Continental Breakfast was really good, hotel grounds very relaxing to spend time & chill; and Matera Old Town buildings/sites & restaurants just down the road. Staff really friendly & helpful

What's not to like.

Amazing staff that went above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel was clean and quite, on the outskirts of the sassi approximately 10 minute walk, lots of steps though. Our room 105 was on the 1st floor and had a huge terrace with a far reaching view. Breakfast was good lots of choice but not any hot options but that was fine by us. We were recommended a number of restaurants and bars to visit plus attractions. Pool was very nice not heated but still lovely and quite, had it to ourselves mainly as hotel only has 9 rooms.

Everything! spotlessly clean. in a quiet location. lovely swimming pool. breakfast was great. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Enza (hope I have spelt that correctly).

Great location within walking distance of the historic centre. It’s about 10 minutes there and 20 back because of the steps/hill. All the staff were brilliant and the breakfast was excellent. The free parking is a major bonus and it’s lovely and quiet in the rooms.

Brilliant location, a few hundred metres from Matera’s historic centre yet superbly quiet & calm with plenty of secure parking & a very pleasant pool to relax by. Extremely nice & plentiful breakfast served in a light & airy breakfast room - which you really appreciate after all Matera’s cave dwellings! Hotel staff very helpful, gave us town maps & good recommendations for restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk.

Great hotel with easy access to Matera old town. beautiful gardens. Private parking. Fabulous breakfast. Most importantly Alessia (front office manager) was wonderful, she spoke perfect English, sat down with us on arrival and explained all the main attractions, offered advice on restaurants and things to do. She was amazing and made our stay very memorable. Thank you :)

Small and very friendly. The staff in particular the young man on the reception the night we arrived made excellent recommendations for our stay. The young lady coordinating breakfast was.fantastic and went.out of.her way to ensure everyone was happy.
