Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaSince the review system wants me to add something here – and I have zero complaints – I'll use this as a suggestion box =). On this stay, I had to go to a hospital, and the hospitals in the area are all excellent. So if at any point the hotels decides to add a little "red medical box" to the lobby accessible with a room key, with, say, mild painkillers, it would be the perfect place to also print out the addresses and phone numbers of the regional hospitals – Sterzing, Brixen, Bolzen – for those who need to phone pronto soccorso in the middle of the night =).
This is the perfect hotel for the area, with its unique character supported by the top-level hospitality. I stayed here before in the summer, and it keeps getting better. The secret is, I suspect, simple: the people who manage this hotel, look at it through the eyes of its guests, thus everything is as it should be. From the little details – bathrobes, shower mats, kettles, salt & pepper in the kitchen, proper pans and utensils, beautiful pillows and beds, ambient lights, and whatnot – to the important stuff, like amazing breakfasts, on-site shop with regional products, and accessible parking – this is the hotel of my dreams. If I could only stay at such places as I travel, I need nothing else, it answers my needs, it's how I would run a hotel if I had a different life! As you, dear reader, are probably reading this while trying to gauge if you should book or not, let me give some specific advice: * it's quiet and you will enjoy great sleep * there's plenty of great food, and a restaurant across the road, for all your culinary needs; * your dog is welcome (a small cleaning fee applies); * the parking is right in the courtyard; * the overall ambiance will make you want to extend your stay; and, * the multilingual staff are all amazing, and will help you with any special requests. If you like mountain hotels, this is the real thing. And the rooms are huge, and the prices are fair! To the hotel directly: thank you for the hospitality, definitely not the last time we visit! <3

ItalyThis place is just outstanding. It was the first time I was traveling alone with my 3 years old daughter, and I couldn't have made a better choice. We both felt immediately at home. Our apartment was very spacious and cozy, with a great bathtub in the bathroom, and even a shower box in the room, which we didn't use. The breakfast was excellent, of high quality and with a lot of variety, as of a 5-stars hotel. If in doubt about adding it or not to your stay, just go for it. There is also a complimentary offer of cakes and other tempting sweets in the afternoons, as well as a very convenient and well stocked minimarket and bakery on site. But what really made our stay very special was the warmth of the hosts, Judith, Florian and their family. They are very welcoming and kind, always available and never intrusive. They also serve a delicious a la carte dinner for guests on Fridays and Saturdays upon reservation. And their daughter Anna's homemade fruit jams are out of this world. I wish I had bought more than one to take with us. The position is excellent for exploring enchanting Eisarck Valley (Valle Isarco) , which is a gateway to the Dolomites, but also to southwestern Austria (Innsbruck and surroundings). Do include a visit to next door church of Maria Trens, the heart of quaint Campo di Trens, as well as to charming Vipiteno, the main town of the valley, less than 10 minutes away by car or train/bus. Especially if you come with kids, I recommend going to Balneum, a complex of swimming pools and sauna, open year round. I hope to come back there soon with the whole family.

GermanyNothing really, though the bells from the church next door while charming are a little loud at times.
Everything! The staff were incredibly warm and inviting. They have dinner there on Friday and Saturday night. We arrived Friday and our younger daughter was having a hard time and a bit out of sorts. The waiter (and I think co-owner?) was kind and gracious and showed us a little room at the back with a few kid toys where she could play while we ate. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was wonderful. The room was big and very nice. Great experience. We’d love to stay again.

Truely one of the best locations I have booked recently! Very friendly hosts (family owned), delicious breakfast with pastry from the local pastry shop, free coffee and pastry in the afternoon, dinner offered Fri and Sat (also very delicious, not open any other days though). Nice and clean rooms with comfy bed.

United KingdomDon't eat at the restaurant across the road, their food is extortionate and absolutely abysmal, €61 for the most disappointing food I have ever had, and that is coming from a British man.
Breakfast was as good as the reviews said, the best breakfast I have had in all the places I have stayed in 4 weeks of touring Europe. Room was spot on.
