Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe were in the heart of Trastevere so we didn’t expect it to be quiet, however, Ursula gave us a side room, off the main road which was great. Ursula was exceptional as a hostess, helping us with train and tram choices, as well as ensuring we were ok while in Rome. To cap off our stay, she treated us to a lovely tray of goodies; Prosecco, beer, chocs and pistachios, left at our door! Wow!

United StatesThe manager, Ursula, is truly exceptional. She and her son go out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. This is the second time we have stayed in a guesthouse that she manages (Residenza Gens Julia was the other), and if we visit Rome again we will very likely stay at one of her guesthouses again. Breakfast is wonderful each and every day, and the location is perfect, right in the heart of Trastevere. I highly recommend this guesthouse.

SwedenThis nice residence is super located in Trastavere. Our room was big and very clean and tidy. Apart from excellent location and quality this residencens is managed by a lovely host, Ursula. From the moment we arrived to the last minutes of our stay Ursula was really the best host one could have. She really makes you feel welcome and goes above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. She truly is a kind and service minded person with full focus on making your stay at the residence a rememberal experience.

United StatesEverything was really great. The noise from the street was a little loud, however, earplugs rectified that. I think it would be noisy, however, anywhere in Rome.
Ursula, the host, was kind and considerate, greeting us when we arrived like we were family! The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast choices were delicious.

United StatesWhat I was confused about is that the website said there was transportation to and from the airport, but didn’t have a time frame nor was there any cost disclosed. It made it seem like it was part of the cost with the stay.
The breakfast was great. The staff was exceptionally friendly .

United KingdomNothing because it was all very very good.
The location was very good but until late at night there was a lot of noise from ambulances and police vehicles but it didn't matter in the day time. Also of course the church bells! The room was absolutely perfect as was the en suite bathroom. We slept very well in a very comfortable bed. Plenty of room for our clothes etc. Breakfast was also very good - everything we wanted. I must, however, mention our hostess Ursula. She is fabulous and we would return just to see her and her son.

United KingdomThere is nothing not to like. Loved everything.
In all my travels, I've never had a more attentive host! There is no one more attentive than Ursula. From the moment we got there, we were treated like family. She was so kind, when she saw the size of my wifes bag, she gave us an upgrade to the king-size room!! So much was at our disposition. I could not fault her at all! From the warm hug to the exquisite breakfast. The area was a great place to stay as it felt safe and was so local to all the main attractions, as well as a great selection of restaurants. We will definitely be booking here again and recommend her to all of our friends and family.

Grazie mille, Ursula e Davide! We started with a warm welcome in the most ideal part of the city. Close to anything you would want to see or visit. Nearby a lot of great restaurants. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was served every morning and was good, fresh fruits, lots of options. We are definitely coming back and really want to thank Ursula for making our trip so nice. You are really the sweetest!

RomaniaI have seen some people's opinions related to the noise. This was the 5th trip to Rome for us and I can say that compared to other places it is not a very noisy area, restaurants and bars are 2 streets away. However, earplugs are provided.
A very nice location, located in the center of Rome, in Trastevere, close to the Belli station (from where there is access to taxis to the airport as well as buses to various places of interest in Rome). For those who have not visited Rome, we are talking about a distance of 3 minutes on foot to the restaurant area of Trastevere, 5 minutes to the Jewish quarter, 10-15 minutes to Campo dei Fiori/Piazza Navona also 10 to Altare della Patria . Regarding the location, I can say that it exceeded our expectations. Everything very clean, we were offered to change our bedding daily if wanted. We chose the standard room which is large enough + the bathroom equipped with everything necessary, and daily they brought us shampoo/gel/kit to wash our teeth. Regarding the breakfast, it was tasty, with possibilities to choose both salty and sweet options (pistachio croissants are great). Also good juices. Access to coffee was 24/7 not just during breakfast. Also for a fee at very low prices mini bar for all day (water, juice, champagne). Besides all these, our host, Mrs. Urszula, was great, a gentle, pleasant attitude, available to help us with everything we need. If every accommodation had a manager like her, I don't think there would be dissatisfied people anywhere.

AustraliaThe host Ursula was fantastic. She welcomed us with open arms and provided hospitality above and beyond what we expected. She provided a surprise cake and prosecco on my daughter's 18th birthday, and changed breakfast times to accommodate our travel plans. The location was amazing - all of the major sites we wanted to visit in Rome were within 30 minute walk away. Rooms were excellent. The tiny wooden lift in the stairwell, was a delight to use.

New ZealandPretty minor, but the wifi extension connection would drop out quite regularly. It didn't affect our stay at all. But if you needed reliable wifi, I'd request a room closer to the reception desk.
The place was spotless. Perfect location to explore Rome from, also easy to get to from the train station. Great self serve breakfast. Urszula, was a fantastic host.

BelgiumThe proximity to the street means there is some noise from passing cars. However, the presence of roller shutters help mitigate this issue.
Ursula and her son were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The property is centrally located in Trastevere, in close proximity to a charming neighborhood with delightful restaurants. Additionally, the fantastic breakfast is complemented by the convenience of being close to all of Rome's highlights; within approximately 30 minutes, you can reach iconic landmarks such as the Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and more.
