How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Amazing location right next to the Termini. Was able to meet amazing people in the common kitchen area and easily make plans for daily adventures with this hostel as our base of operations! The morning croissants and coffee machine were great starts to the day every morning as well!

there is no lock for the closet, if you dont have you should buy from reception. card entrance doesnt work properly

The pillow was terrible, felt like there were stones inside. The room was ok, but you could hear anyone (and anything) coming inside or leaving the apartment, so it wasn't easy to sleep.
The place was very close to the train station and the metro. Very convenient for travelling people.

I didn’t like that they offer breakfast and it’s just a coffee and 1 croissant per person, for the money you pay, and the facilities, they could add something else. Also my room wasn’t cleaned daily and the guy who arranges the room, would start cleaning before the lock out time so if Someone in your room left early prepare to have him in there

The bunk beds where terrible! On top was a very big dude and every time he moved the whole bed shaked and I was afraid it would break at some point, made an awful noise! Worst night at a hostel.

The bed I slept in had no sheets, the blanket provided wasn't warm enough and the room we slept in was too small for 4 people. It also would be good to have a towel for the amount that is being charged. Besides the location I didn't see a valuable return for my money at all.

The staff was very rude at the reception. The bed and room were not clean.
It's near Roma Termini. So, you can just reach there by walk.

The toilet and bathroom were very dirty and they didn't pay attention. The beds were noisy and uncomfortable and in one morning the room suddenly opened and one guy entered the room,despite I have reserved it privately. They charged me for breakfast and no breakfast was included but a simple crescent-shaped bread roll. The waitress was so rude. They wanted to charge me more for city taxes.

Having a timer on the AC during one of the warmest summers ever recorded. Plus small bed where a person who is 1.90 can’t fit. Very expensive as well considering these budget cuts, the ax that is.

After booking, they tell you if you arrive after 11pm it’s 15€. No where in the policy does it say that. So after having a delayed flight, train strike I arrive at 12:30pm. The address that they have on booking.com ISN’T the correct one, the reception is in another building. The women at reception was very rude and inhospitable. The breakfast is just a coffee and croissant.

It was advertised as having air conditioning, but what they fail to tell you is that it only turns on after 7pm, which was very frustrating to learn about on the first day. Also, the 'breakfast ' that is included in the price was a singular croissant every day.
Wasn't expecting anything fancy and the room did the job for the 5 of us. Beds were perfectly good to sleep on, the room was cleaned every day and the location was good, as close to the Termini metro station.

Note that the hostel actually consists of two street addresses. The address on Google Maps is the correct one for the check-in desk, but your room might be around the corner at the other address.
Great hostel right near the train station, social environment in the kitchen and free croissants in the morning.
