Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. FranceI got hit on by the male staff and found it very unprofessional. The door of the bathroom didn’t work so well. There is no sea view, and it is not really located in the hotel.
The female hotel staff were great. The room is spacious and well appointed.

AustriaBreakfast was not a buffet as other references said - only croissant and coffee/tea but the people in this Cafe were nice. The shower door was leaking so bathroom flooded quite quick and it's not possible to tilt the window in the bathroom so humidity is very high. Yes, the room was clean in the beginning but I stayed for 5 nights and there was no cleaning service during the whole stay - a bit difficult with long dark hair on a white floor.
The location was really good and the furniture was very new.

United KingdomEverything, building disgraceful, area very scruffy, no on site facilities, poor contact with the owner, the number provided was someone else, who then gave me a number of another man who sent a lady with the keys.
The description on the website is false. There are no sea views from the rooms, the building the rooms are is disgraceful, I wouldn't even house asylum seekers there! The pool, spa etc are in another hotel across the road. Our party took one look at the rooms and although clean and tidy are rooms in the basement of the building, no emergency exit in the event of a fire in the entrance hall to the rooms. They should not be allowed to be advertised on Booking.com. I am claiming for a refund. Having read recent reviews it seems I am in good company with terrible reviews.

BrazilI booked the room showed at Booking. I arrived at the property, it was a smaller bad one, completely different, upstairs… I complained, they offered me another room, but there was no one available. So I had to cancel and look for another B&B, really stressful situation. Anyway, they were kind, understood the problem, but they definitely have to change the info and price. I lost some hours and had a lot of stress due to the situation.

ItalyThe room is in the underground and we couldn’t open the windows because they were right below the parking lot. A lot of noise during the day and night, and cars light were illuminating our room as if it was daylight. In the entrance door of the building there was garbage left by the people living in the building. The room is in a different building of the one advertised on booking. There is no sea view from the room the only view is on the parking lot. The room is newly renovated but extremely small if you consider that it is mainly for beach goers. There is no space to hang towels or swimwear after a day at the beach.

Czech RepublicYou can feel very welcome in this B&B. The room was tidy and clean, bed was comfortable, hot water every day as well, it is possible to use AC like heating, which is very useful for example during the March. And the owner is super kind man, took me from the train station, reccommened places to visit in the beautiful city of Tropea. Only say that wifi is not available, but for me not a big deal.
