How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The sauna and the steam room were not hot enough. There is a dog hunting kennel nearby and they feed the dogs, they really bark a lot. I didn’t I went. I booked the hotel. I got bombarded by messages about tours and winetasting but when I got there, they didn’t mention that if I wanted to stay longer, I needed to tell them right away. I rushed off to a wine tasting, and when I got back, my room had been taken. They should’ve made that a priority to communicate that with me.
I liked the breakfast , the views, the location in the facility. I’d also felt like a good value a quiet location. You definitely need a car.

We loved our apartment; perfect for people who value privacy, a short walk away from the beautiful spa and hotel where the food is incredible and the stuff is super nice and helpful.

This place is very beautiful! We would even like to stay for longer. Pool is beautiful. Assigned sun beds. Stunning views from the room and by the pool. Good variety of food for breakfast (you need to order from them staff to get more options). Delicious dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful. We also booked wine tasting as they have their own winery which we totally recommend. Room was specious and clean. Short drive to Todi.

I would consider better sound proof doors for the rooms because I heard other guests talking in the corridors, but it wasn`t intrusive at all
Fantastic experience all round, the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding and the portions were adequate.

the attitude of some of the staff could sometimes come across as rude and unwilling to help if you did not speak Italian

Unfortunately, we changed dates and got a ‘better’ room. This room had an extremely small bathroom, a strange mattress smaller than the bed, and some noisy children nextdoor, so it was not quite as nice as before. Strange: Wifi only with facebook or your email and you have to agree that they give your information to third parties.
The location is really wonderful. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking.

Everything was great, the staff was amazing, especially Emily and the young lady that was taking care of the spa. BUT the blonde receptionist needs some basic customer service training. She gave me a dead stare as I walked (I’m black) but changed her tune when I was the card holder for all the rooms I booked.
The grounds and the spa are great!

There is not really a proper gym at all. It’s a dark room with 2 machines. Hot tub and Sauna also a bit busy and could use a refresh. Otherwise 10/10

The outdoor pool is freezing cold and we weren’t allowed to take our baby in the indoor pool.
A beautiful property with the most stunning views of the Umbrian countryside. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food and wine are spectacular and the breakfast was perfect.

The air conditioning in our room didn’t work very well so we had trouble sleeping it was so warm. Also the spa although beautiful was in serous need of a seriously good clean it was quite dirty and the pool water was smelly.
Fantastically beautiful property set in the vineyard and just a short drive away from the town of todi. The hotel restaurant is truly magnificent!
