How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great hospitality and staff, very friendly and attentive owner. Nice courtyard for breakfast. A big balcony, appartments nicely designed and newly furnished. Superb cook, almond cakes and freshly baked dolce daily. We had appartment with sea view which is more quiet.

The hotel have good location,staff friendly,all the best Fabio the hotel owner.The room big with all equipment,2 minute go to sea. The good connection via train to Catania,Siracusa,Tormolino,Messina.

The single bed was a bit hard.
Fabbio and Frederica were fabulous hosts. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Property was very close to the Lime Lido, which was where we spent most of our time, so that was convenient. Also near market. Location and service both ideal.

Sometimes neighbors from upstairs was making too much noise. Unfortunately stuff have poor English so if you need to find out something it’s difficult with explanations. We had an apartment with sea view and our friends had with garden view. Sea view very poor but garden view is much beautiful. I don’t recommend to pay more for sea view apartment
Very clean and good apartment. Nice breakfast but we find out only few days after that except pastries we can ask for omelette. So people ask for more breakfast! But pastries are amazing too

The see water is cold in the vicinity. A bit noisy in the morning.
The best one could expect for the price. Delivers on expectations.. The staff were nice and helpful. Wasn't difficult to park.

Beautiful terrace, cosy and comfortable one bed apartment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. We recommend the cipollina as an afternoon snack.

The elevator did not stop on our level.
The location is perfect if you wish to visit the Etna or Alcantara by car. The apartement was cozy and well equipped for a pair to spend a weekend nearby the sea.

Breakfast...
Clean, nice comfortable one bed room apartment. We received a room on the 4th floor, with nice terrace sea view. Location is nice, opposite the Carabinieri headquarters - so you feel very safe. We are a family +2 children, the beds were made for 1 child and the owner who doesn't speak a word of English tried to explain how to open yhe sofa bed, and left us to make it in our own... For breakfast we got to pick one pastry... which is hardly breakfast.

Wi-Fi signal not very strong in the room.
Breakfast was at bar of the facility. It is a typical Italian breakfast - good coffee or any other drink and some fresh pastries. The location was perfect for us as we did not want to be in a super touristic place. The hotel has also a lido, servicing nice food, drinks etc. Prices were reasonable considering we were there at the peak of the season. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and made us feel at home. We would go back.

that the highest rating I can give is a 10, this place deserves a 20!!
Words alone cannot truly express the kindness and generosity of the hosts of Riviera Ionica. From the moment you arrive you are treated like family. I have never felt more welcomed or care about while on holiday! The mamma, Fabio, Tino and the entire staff are all diamonds! I would stay here a 1000 times! the apartment has everything you need and is impeccably clean. A lovely view to the ocean and close proximity to every destination on the east side of Sicily. The breakfast is delicious and the dinner is even better. I can’t wait to come back. Special thanks to Fabio that was truly looking out for us due to the flooding and Catania, his care and empathy was a welcomed blessing!

All was perfect!
Appartment was modern, clean, safe and more than comfortable. In 2 minutes we could be on the blue flag beach of St Theresa di Riva. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We also appreciated the generously genuine Sicilian breakfast. Ideal place to visit the nearby Savoca, Toarmina and beautiful beaches in the vicinity.

I have traveled to numerous places, but the customer service at this hotel is virtually nonexistent. The reception does not adhere to the operational hours listed in their description. The owners do not converse in English and their attitude is far from friendly. The actual experience at the hotel does not align with what's advertised online. We were so dissatisfied that after just one day, we chose to check out, having negotiated a refund for the remaining days. Regrettably, the management failed to uphold this agreement. Despite my attempts to contact the hotel to request the promised refund, I received no response. It's worth mentioning that one of the restaurant workers tried to assist us, but she seemed overwhelmed and slightly frightened, likely due to the owners' presence.

Partly a lot of traffic noise. The surroundings area is very unattractive. The beach is grey and pebbly.
Apealing hotel, nice flat, good bar with good coffee (breakfast there). Staff very friendly and helpful. Flat very clean. Only few metres to the beach.
