Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe bathroom is old and could use some renovation. There was some dust.
The owner is a welcoming lady who can explain basic things in English. The big advantage was the possibility to check in at 10.30. The flat was very spacious, with a beautiful view from the terrace on the panorama of the city. The room was big, clean and wth air conditioning. The breakfast is a basic Italian breakfast but with freshly warmed croissants and bread and a natural juice.

AustraliaYou can't get sentimental in these reviews. The room was passable but the balcony door just wouldn't shut properly it was so old. Towels were like a sheet of cardboard. But for the inexpensive price, who cares.
Very handy location for the trains and buses. Host seemed like a lovely lady but spoke very little English. Property was like taking a trip back in time as nothing had been renewed for decades. But saying that, old doesn't equal bad. Felt more like being a private guest rather than a paying customer. We left early so didn't eat breakfast which was a shame.

United KingdomI cannot think of anything significant worth mentioning.
Rosella's apartment is in an excellent central location. It is very well located for the sights, central railway station and bus connections. Rosella is a very responsive host, though we do not speak Italian and hence had to message each other through chat.

IrelandOur room was facing the main road and the noise was quite bad.
Amazing location, a short distance from many landmarks. Great antique decor, clean all around, very spacious, also very comfy beds. Breakfast was quite sweet but very good and prepared with love! Hosts were very friendly, patient and helpful despite the language barrier. WiFi was fast and stable.

HungaryThe breakfast was a fresh croissant and not that freash bread with jam plus sweet drink. There was a baskest with plastic knifes but these were dirty. We also had the feeling the place was dirty, but mostly it was just old. The wifi was good only next to the table. In Palermo the garbage truck works at night, it was a bit noisy and also the main street, the insulation is not that good. We were cold at night (8-12C outside) there is just an air conditioning which you can be used heating.
The room was big, with antique furnitures and there were converter in the pugs. The view was fantastics from the small balcony which was open from the personal bathroom. It was on the 5th floor we could use a lift. Across the road there is a Lidl and 2 minutes from the pubs, the attractions was also close and it was easy to come from the airport by train/bus. The host lived in the same house but on another corridor so she was available but not disturbed. She was kind and had a lots of sanitizer. She does not speak English but everything was understandable.

RomaniaThe whole apartment was stuck in time about 30 years ago. The furniture is old, and the sheets were like 30 years old. but clean. If you are a fan of vintage/old stuff, here is the place to be. If you have low expectations, you can find many advantages here (location, price)
Very close to main train & bus station Breakfast included in 30 euro/night Cross the street to a Lidl The lady waited for us at 1 am ... (of course we ask permission first!)

It's more like staying at a museum. Room decorated with antique furniture. The room is very spacious. It give us an experience of living in 19th/20th centuries. Such a lovely place.
