Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room was pitch perfect. Nothing not to like.
You come to San Gennaro because its not a place to come. Its on top of a high promontory and its a very small town. It has no grocery or restaurant, but boy, what a view. We did discover within walking distance (850 meters) a restaurant called Fattoria di Petrognano. We liked it so much, we went back again (the eggplant parmesan is simply the best we've ever had). The hotel is situated just off the parking area for the small village, and the rooms are spectacular. Exactly what one envisions when you think of an Etruscan room. Wooden beamed ceilings, ceramic floors and colorful appointments throughout the room. We loved this place. Down the road is a town called Collodi (5-10 minutes away). Much to our delight, we discovered it is the home of Geppetto and Pinocchio, and also home to a few good restaurants. We ventured into Lucca from San Gennaro. The woman who operates the hotel, Anna, was just a delight. We were very glad to have stayed in such a great B&B.

ItalyIt's not that we didn't like it, but in the breakfast room, be prepared to have the co-owner looking down at you from many, many photos on the walls.
Location is in a small village in the Tuscan hills, the road to get there is winding and rather bumpy, and don't expect Google to take you right to the front door. Short walk from where you park the car (not really a car park!), the village is traffic-free. Very well preserved house. Breakfast was typical continental, plenty to eat, good quality. Hostess Marie and her helpers all very friendly. We stayed there principally to go to the Pinocchio Park in Collodi with our grand-daughter -- perfect for that. Not too far from Pisa and Lucca either.

AustraliaThis accommodation was fantastic on all levels. The room was large and comfortable, fantastic value for money at a beautiful elevated location with views. It is, however, a little tricky to find but worth it. But the best part of the trip was meeting our host Fiona and her family. She was kind, interesting and generous with her time and attention. Her husband cooked us the most amazing pasta. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

United KingdomThe only thing I would change would be to not have all the little packets of shampoo etc in the bathroom though appreciate some people may want this, good to get rid of the plastic.
This was like being at home, very relaxed and most amazing location. Special thanks to our lovely waitress, daughter of the owner. The whole experience was perfect from start to finish. Flexible times for breakfast and easy check in and out. Thanks so much.

PolandGreat place. Very old building. But of course the rooms were very nice and clean and comfortable and with this feeling you touch the history. The village itself is magnificent. It's on the hill and has exceptional view on the valley. It's great to walk on the narrow streets and see all these beautiful and picturesque things.

SwedenThe only bad thing was that it was extremely hot outside and there was no air conditioning. We hade a fan but the room got very, very hot. So none of us could sleep very well. So during very hot days I would not recommend it but all other times this would be an amazing, beautiful place.
The place was amazing. The beautiful landscape. The village. The b&b itself.

PolandAccess to this B&B is up a few kilometers on a mountain road, which for myself, was a thrilling experience, especially with a big truck like mine – although it was a nightmare for my wife. At this B&B we were offered a 3-course dinner (presented to us as homemade), it tasted like a cheap canned meal from the supermarket (and it most likely was), it was accompanied by a piece of grilled chicken, which was as dry as the sole of a shoe. Although, the wine was good. The host (owner) was definitely talking too much, in my opinion, mostly about himself and displayed a great lack of manners, e.g. he was recounting explicitly vulgar sexual jokes to his clients, whom he met just an hour ago. Suffice to say, we were embarrassed. He also commented that visitors who only stay for one night (like us) are a burden for his business (!) There was a lack of air conditioning in the room, this prevented us from having a proper rest before embarking on a further longer journey. The breakfast provided was, in one word, cheap. We had coffee and one mini croissant. We were also offered some packaged supermarket bread and cookies with a few slices of mortadella - left untached.
It's a B&B in a renowated building in a very old village located in the mountains with a nice view - most likely an attraction for hiking aficionados.

SloveniaWe only stayed one one night, everything was great, would be nice to have s small table in the family room to play cards etc.
A lovely location in a small village up in the hills, with a nice view and possibilities to walk around. A comfortable, recently rennovated room in a ancient building, friendly owner.
