How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The staff were very friendly, the bedrooms were very clean and tidy. The location was excellent in walking distance from many places, and the breakfast was excellent and very delicious at the rooftop!

It was incredible! The location is simply amazing, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of all the major sights. The staff were extremely welcoming, supportive, and helpful throughout our stay. The room facilities were top-notch and we couldn't have asked for more. Oh, and the breakfast? Absolutely delicious! One thing that really caught our attention was the hotel's stunning marble staircase, which we later found out was built back in 1930. Truly impressive! Highly recommend this place!

This staff is knows how to show their hospitality, everything was excellent. The staff made us feel so special, each and every time they saw us. So so friendly and warm. Hotel is decorated for Christmas so beautiful Really got you in the holiday spirit

There was one noisy neighbour downstairs room with a balcony who was loudly speaking even at night

Struggling to find anything to complain about, nope!
Five stars for a 5 Star hotel. Great central location for major tourist sites all with 30mins walk. Singer Palace Staff from the front desk to housekeeping are all delightful and could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Service in the restaurant and roof top bar was excellent and provided top quality food and drinks. You can enjoy these along with great view’s across the city. Perfect for a romantic meal or drink night and day. Although our room was on the street side this was not an issue, soundproofing was exceptional. As you would expect with a quality hotel the bedroom and bathroom were spotless and spacious. When next in Rome we will strongly consider booking here again. Thank you for making our visit really special.

Perhaps a lack of Public space. It would also have been nice to have access to a public computer with printer.
The staff was exceptional. Although our room was a bit small the high ceilings and overall ambiance made up for it. The location is also a highlight. Close to everything in central Rome and tucked away into a little side street.

Singer Palace is a phenomenal boutique hotel located in the heart of Rome. You can literally walk to every sight. The rooftop bar and restauarant are gorgeous and the food was exceptional! The staff really make the whole experience. They go above and beyond. An absolutely amazing stay!
