Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaAll was good. Just the mosquitoes, haha. But we forgot to use the repellent. It was provided by the host.
Superb location. Amazing host. All things you might need were ready. Apartment is in the nice safe location. 2 wine locations less than a minute away. Building is old, has Medici vibe with water fountain in the inner garden/corridor/hallway. Quiet during the night. Super cute and lively during the day, when shops and coffees open.

New ZealandRoberto's exceptional hosting. He went the extra mile to wait for us and show us into our apartment, and settle us in. The apartment had absolutely everything you could possibly need, and more. Great amount of space, plus the shower and bed were great. The entrance to the property is very attractive too. A very quick walk to the Piazza de Ferrari. We wished we could stay longer!

Thailandapartment is fairly dark. No real sunlight gets in. Could use a nice, office chair.
Super location right in the old, medieval city. Full apartment with everything you need for an extended stay. Full kitchen, modern bathroom, big, smart TV (55"). Roberto, the host, is a friendly guy who will help you with whatever you need.

United StatesNo complaints here
Loved that it was in the “Carrugi” old city and had tons of charm and old world features. A grand entrance and tons of space. The host had several nice touches like snacks, drinks, toiletries even spa slippers. He met us at the parking lot and helped with our luggage. Don’t hesitate to stay here. It’s super convenient to everything you need to see in Genoa. You won’t find a nicer host and value for money elsewhere.

United KingdomDue to the narrow streets it's dark inside but the interior lighting is very good. Nothing else bothered us.
Central In the oldest part of the city, small flat carved out of fascinating historic surroundings. Roberto is a great host nothing is too much trouble, and he has provided lots of extra kind touches, sweets, drinks, nice toiletries and much more! . Surprisingly quiet even though it's so central. Car free area with narrow streets adds to the charm

United KingdomBit difficult to find as booking.com listed address as 30, but it has 50 on the door. Would have been better if it had a couple of comfortable chairs.
Very nice apartment with good facilities. Close to the interesting parts of the town. Someway from the station. Owner is in the shop nextdoor.

United States-
The apartment is located in the center of a historical district but also close to a lot of different neighborhoods. It is also equidistant between two main train stations. Moreover, it is good to have a place where you can live more like a local, shop for, and cook your own meals. It is also in a historic building where you are treated to a magnificent lobby every time you enter or leave.

RomaniaAmazing value for the money! I'm so happy that people like Roberto (the owner) exist. He was kind, generous and gave us a ride to the airport when we had to leave very early in the morning on a Sunday. When we checked in there was a nice welcome package with snacks and drinks for us to enjoy. If you're reading this, Roberto, once again thank you for everything! This must be one of the few places I thought looks better in real life than in photos. It has everything you would need: bathroom kits with toothbrush, shower cap and razor, house slippers, well stocked kitchen and bathroom, extra blankets, a device that disinfects your keys / phone and I've even found a pair of headphones in case you really need to get on that meeting and you forgot yours at home. It's located a short walk away from all the points of interest for a tourist. It's generally quiet, you might hear some people talking loudly on the street on a weekend but you can rest very well. The couch - bed was comfortable and there's an extra extensible bed for a third person to use. I'd stay here in a hearbeat if we ever come back to the city.

ItalyAll is perfect. House in Genova center but the place is peaceful. The house is 15 minutes from Genova Brignole Station, 500 mt from Genova Acquario and 300 mt De Ferrari Square and Metro. A few steps from the square, near Carlo Felice theater, there is a great supermarket called Coop. It has a lot of cooked meals. The house has everything you need. It's like you're staying in your home.

GreeceThere is a sofa that becomes bed for two people and it would be better to be replaced by a double bed and so the room would be absolutely amazing!
Roberto was an excellent host! The amenities of the room was much more than we expected, especially the kitchen is fully equiped! The location is perfect for exploring the city centre of Genova! The building is a monument by itself!
