The villa was quite hard to reach by foot. The roads are very steep and it takes around 30minutes to get to the house uphill from the citycenter. You defenitely have to be in shape to be able to reach the accomodation by foot. We would also have liked to have more basic cooking appliances since they only had 2 drink glasses but no wine glasses. We were also in need of olive oil and salt that would easily make the experience in an appartment that has a kitchen a lot more confortable.

The view from the terrace was great! we were a bit dissapointed to realise the sunset was to the other side so we could not see that fron the balcony. The owner and people working there were super kind and nice!

Lovely apartment with beautiful views. Friendly host, nice touches with toiletries & breakfast basket. We stayed in a superior apartment, note there isn't a washing machine but that wasn't an issue for us. The hill is very steep but good exercise 😁

There was a language barrier with our host due to our lack of Italian, however, there was no problem understanding each other thanks to google translate. The only issue with the apartment was that it was right at the top of a steep hill (Definitely not for the unfit). The walk itself doesn't take long, however, it takes a lot - if you don't have a car.

Our host was lovely, and provided everything we needed. She even helped us to book a taxi back to the station by calling them herself, as our italian isn't great. The room was lovely and very comfortable, with all facilities and a great view of Taormina. We were welcomed with a whole basket of sicilian snacks and a tour of the apartment. Our host left us to it and responded quickly if we needed anything.

Lots of stairs so just take light luggage! Program Google Maps before you arrive - Taormina streets are a challenge.

Fantastic apartment, The large balcony is the standout - we had 3 excellent sunset evenings.

We even didn't try to get to the town with the car : Impossible to find a parking place . So we always walked to Taormina ( 20 min ) . The way back being a little longer ... we should have tried the taxi !

Clean and well equipped property. Ideal for a couple. The owner provided a welcome basket of breakfast goodies; it was very appreciated. The property has a large balcony with amazing views of the sea and the coastline. But it is a 30 minute steep uphill walk from the centre of Taormina. Those with a car can find parking in front of the property.

Bear in mind that this hotel is in the very top of the hill in Taormina. In case you do not have a car and don’t plan to have a cab bringing you up, you will need to face some steep hills to reach the room. We left just once a day and planned ahead for this as it wasn’t the easiest way up, also to get a cab both at arrival and leaving was a nightmare, expensive and the host didn’t help at all especially with leaving. The view is worth it but be aware of the challenges!

The view is simply stunning and to watch the sunrise from the balcony every night was definitely a dream. The bedroom has all you need.

The only downside was that it is a bit of a walk from the main area. Walking down was not bad but walking back at night, there were some very dark and steep sections. The good thing was that taxis were readily available so it worked out for us.

Villa Sofia was wonderful. A beautiful view, set above the main part of Taormina. The location was also very quiet. The place was very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying there, for the view alone.

dear booking, indicate the correct distance to the sea in the villa. it is about 2 km. the rooms are very clean and beautiful, beautiful view, but you must specify that you cannot go without a car. We couldn't even call a taxi here. out of three days, we were only able to go down to the sea once - the road back is not a very easy climb, and the taxi did not arrive

It is up a really steep hill and a bit out of town. We had a bit of a struggle finding the right apartment.

The road leading to the property is a bit dark during the night and google maps took us to turn on the left instead right, trough a dangerous road with alot of rubble and debris on the road.

Perfectly clean apartment with a huge balkony and a view that's hard to beat. Lorena was very forthcoming and gave us all the info we needed. All equipment to cook was available and in perfect condition.
