Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spacious rooms with good comfy beds and pillows. Full amenities provided. Clean with every day cleaning service. Smiling and helping staff plus communication through what's up 24/7. Great location. It’s very close to Coliseum and It’s walking distance to a lot of touristic places. Also the street is just like a scene from a movie with little designer shops and cute cafes. The Staff is very helpful and friendly, especially the lady in the front desk was very sweet!

United StatesTiny shower, no breakfast offered, slim mattresses. Old bedding.
There was no breakfast at the location, the pictures show an eating area but it was closed. Building is OLD and the elevator is WORTH the stay just to experience it. The elevator is more than 100 years old…. Beds could be better but for a quick stay it was ok. The shower was Super SMALL!!!! A corner shower unit with sliding panels made for tiny people. Overall the location and staff was excellent. Very helpful. Hotel is OLD. No mirror on room but AC unit was a console and cool off the room super quick. The location is like. 9 min walk from Coliseum.

United StatesThe bathroom was incredibly small. The shower was barely useable/accessible due to its small size. Towel racks and shelving were insufficient the hold bathroom supply. Room area seem to be shared with apartments and there was a very strong odor of cabbage/garlic that was not possible to remove from the living space. It also seems that there was a lot of noise that came through the floors from above.
The location was incredibly convenient. The facility itself was “boutique.” To this end it was a bit dated, but for the location was well worth it. (Bathroom needs help.)

United StatesThe beds were a bit stiff/hard and the bathroom is small. Very clean but the showers are very tiny and I think some larger people would have a hard time taking a shower comfortably. But overall it was a great spot.
We are so glad we found a room at Soggiorno Angelus. Just a 12min walk north of the Colosseum you feel right in the middle of everything, but just slightly off the main roads so it's nice and quiet. The B&B was easy to find (we walked from the RomaTermini) and the staff were very kind and accommodating and let us check in early. They have one of the oldest elevators in Italy and it is gorgeous! The rooms were spacious, clean and best of all the AC ( air conditioning) was so cold! It's hard to find older buildings with good AC in Rome. Sadly we didn't get a chance to try out the breakfast but we were thankful for their 24/7 reception service and help getting a taxi first thing in the morning on a Sunday. Lots of great restaurants, gelato, bars in the area and it seemed like a great night life spot (but best of all we couldn't hear anything from the room). We would love to stay here again!

United StatesI was initially disappointed in the simplicity and sparseness of my room -- Think closer to a pensione than a traditional hotel. Beds and pillows were definitely on the firm side, so not my personal taste. Shower only, which is a very small corner unit in the bathroom, so will not be accommodating for a larger-sized individual. FYI, Hotel Artorius is run on the floor above with more traditional hotel stylings, so if Soggiorno Angelus seems too simplistic for your taste, perhaps check those listings and reviews. Due to COVID restrictions/permitting there was no daily breakfast offered in the interior courtyard area, which I was hoping to take advantage of, but understood. I did not notice this cancellation called out when making my booking, so would like to point that out here. There is some street noise with cars and pedestrians coming/going, especially if you have windows open. Via del Boschetto is not a major street, so it is not too noisy. I did not find noise to be an issue at all when closing my windows at night and using the AC.
Soggiorno Angelus is an excellent choice for a value-driven traveler in Rome. It occupies one floor of the building and rooms are furnished very simply as you should expect for a 2-star hotel -- I found my room spacious with a nice open-window view of the street in Monti below. Rooms were cleaned well. AC provided. Free Wi-Fi. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Staff spoke English fluently, and were quite helpful whenever I had questions or requests, including assisting with arrangements for pick up/drop off at FCO airport when arriving and with my early-AM departure. They use WhatsApp for communications, and that worked well both prior to my arrival and during my stay. The building itself is older and not flashy, but with plenty of charm and personality, including a beautiful 100 year-old wooden elevator, stained glass accents, marble stairs, etc. You cannot beat the location on Via del Boschetto if you're interested in Monti as a neighborhood base for your Rome stay. Steps away from multiple shops for jewelry, clothing, home decor, plus many, many options for dining (e.g. the long-standing Taverna dei Monti is within a 1-minute walk for old-school Roman cuisine). The Colosseum is an easy walk away. There's also a small Conad City market across the street for convenience needs, which was a bonus.

Location was great, walking distance to the trevi Fountain, Colloseum, pantheon, shops and lots of restaurants / cafes. Everything else was either a short bus / metro ride away. Price was good, staff friendly and very helpful. The area was very serene and quiet.
