How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The lift was very small.
It was in a fabulous location. The room was comfortable and a great size. The breakfast was superb and the service outstanding.

No downsides.
The hotel is lovely, cozy, with friendly and very helpful staff. Breakfasts were outstanding! Location perfect for what we wanted to visit and our restaurant choices. Would gladly stay again when in Milan.

Even though we set the air conditioner to 29 degrees, the room air conditioner was not heating enough or we were too cold, i am not sure :) but thanks for everything!

It is near the Duomo Cathedral Church and easy to access to many famous locations on foot. Its breakfast were wonderful and delicious. Our room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Free soft drinks from the mini bar and fruits were offered. I recommend this hotel.

Not a thing.
This is the perfect location for anyone focused on seeing the top sights in Milan. And that's just the beginning. Our room was comfortable, immaculate, and beautiful. In fact every corner of this hotel was beautifully appointed. Beyond this, we very much appreciated the service here. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We especially appreciated the wonderful women at the front desk. who took the time to answer all our questions and truly went out of their way to "show us the way." Our luggage was handled with care. An unexpected bonus: bottles of water (still and sparkling) and wonderful snacks in the reception area that we could help ourselves to whether on our way up to our rooms, or out to explore. Breakfast service was impeccable, and the breakfast buffet included simply everything we could possibly want (plus, eggs to order were also offered). Of all the excellent hotels we stayed in during three weeks in Italy, Hotel Spadari Al Duomo was our favorite!

Could do with a mirror in the bedroom not just in the bathroom.
We booked for Milan for 4 days and searched around for what we deemed best value for money. Previous reviews are not wrong as this certainly is excellent value for money. Everything was as expected and more. The staff were superb and a massive thanks especially to Letizia for her help and advice. The breakfast was excellent and the Prosecco at 6:30 is also a welcome treat. Will be coming back to this hotel. My recommendation for anyone staying would be to book a room at the back of the hotel which is quieter than the front of the hotel.

I was concerned about the noise level after reading other reviews. You can definitely hear your neighbor but it wasn't to the point where it was drastically noticeable or a nuisance.
Our group had a triple and double room, and as requested we were next door to each other. Check in was smooth and quick. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was exceptional with a huge selection to choose from every morning.

Absolutely nothing!
This hotel was amazing! From the service to the room itself, we were shocked it’s only a 4 star hotel. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to wake up in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and you can have it brought to your room free of charge!! The hotel also offers complimentary snacks and Prosecco every night in their lobby. We got upgraded to a better room since my husband and I were on our honeymoon. It was the perfect stay!

Excellent location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Very comfortable room with all the conveniences you could want. You are only a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and center of the city. Fantastic breakfast choices. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel. It’s a gem.

See comments above re: room size but we accept that hotel rooms throughout Europe are generally on the small side.....
The location was perfect for our sightseeing plans; handy to city highlights and restaurants. The hotel breakfasts were excellent as was the service from EVERY staff member we engaged with - in fact they were the best of any hotel we stayed in throughout Italy! The room was perhaps a little small by New Zealand standards (where we are from) but had everything we need. Over the 3 weeks we were in Italy we stayed in 7 hotels - this was by far the BEST!

There is a tram passing by in front of the hotel so it can get noisy. I suggest you ask for a room towards the courtyard.
The location is excellent, close to Duomo. Everyone in the hotel was super nice. Breakfast was very good, everything fresh and tasty.
