How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was great apartment for our 2 days trip to Roma. Room is very clean and cozy. Location is really great. It is only 5-6 minutes by walk from Trevi Fountain, so we were able to take beautiful photos without a crowd in a morning ;) The host Francesca is very friendly :)

Maybe the bed was a bit too soft for me, but that’s a personal taste, nothing serious.
Location, silence, cleanliness, treats offered (water, fruit, cakes, cookies, candy), very nice and helpful hostess and cleaning staff.

It was really clean. The location is amazing, very close to the subway and to most of the main places to visit. The host was great as well. We had welcome drinks, full minibar and fresh fruits. The room is tiny but cozy with everything necessary.

Only downside for me was the pillows, as they where really hard.
Very central location, in walking distance to attractions. Guest house was very clean. Super quiet and comfortable, with only 2 rooms. Francesca was super sweet. Helped us with restaurant recommendations. Had multiple snacks to choose from in the room which was very nice of them. Overall we Really enjoyed the stay and will definitely visit again

Only suggestion would be to install another motion sensor/light near the bottom of the entrance stairway. Hard to see when coming in at night before it kicks in.
Location is amazing, but like many others have said what really makes this place shine is the customer service!

The apartment is lovely. Everything was perfectly clean and orderly. Hostess Francesca was friendly and would stay in touch in case some problems arose (there were none). I also appreciated the terrace. It is a nice place to stay in the evening after wandering through the city.

Room is a bit small but it is what it is, overall not a big problem unless spacious room is a must for you.
It’s in a great location to all key sightseeing spot and shopping mall, as well as good restaurant nearby, and the room is clean and tidy with Francesca helped to clean everyday, super.

Our only minor criticisms during our stay were, 1. the room is quite small in size, it is what it is, but something to be aware of; and 2. some of the TV channels were not working. Likely not an issue for a lot of people, nor is in reality.
Great location and super friendly host. Great immediate contact on booking, very friendly and helpful even though it was late evening. Arrived early the next day to complete the check-in for us and brought breakfast pastries! Super friendly with all info and anything else we needed.

Francesca is an amazing host and the accommodation is superb, including complimentary snacks, coffee and above all the amazing central location. Francesca provided us with a list of restaurants she recommends (great one, btw :)) and also booked a taxi on our behalf. The cleaning lady cleaned the room every day. We felt like in a hotel - perfectly taken care of. The cozy terrace is a rare bonus for such location!

Everything was just perfect.
Everything was super clean. The place was very cosy, we felt like home. Francesca was a very nice lady, she supported us with everything, she even brought us breakfast. The place was very well equipped, even a hair straightener was there, which made my wife very happy. The place is in a very good location. Thank you Francesca you were one of our best hosts :)

Just the towels smelt not so nice- of vinegar - probably because being bleached. Otherwise - it is a spotlessly clean apartment, sheets and towels!
Francesca is a lovely host! Friendly and helpful. Fresh water, tea, coffee, fruits, sweets and yoghurts for the guests. Nice balcony to rest after a long day of walking through the streets of beautiful Rome. Cleaning every day and making bedsheets. We really enjoyed our stay. Location is top! Close to Spagna square.

Nothing special, the fridge was a bit small so it was hard to fit the water we bought but we were thankful that the room even had one.
It was in a nice neighborhood, near many restaurants, shopping and supermarkets. The room was small but absolutely perfect for a few nights. Everything was clean and fresh. The room did also have an air conditioning which was in perfect need in the summer heat in Italy.
