Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe lift was a bit temperamental on the day we were leaving but luckily the accommodation is on the 1st floor so we only had to drag our massive suitcases down one flight of stairs. This did not take away from our lovely stay at Juilia's though.
The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable with a lovely en-suite. It had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Lots of really nice restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance. Several bus stops nearby with the number 46 about 2 minutes away and another major stop about 7 minutes away. We travelled everywhere using public transport which was cheap and efficient. Best of all was our beautiful host Juilia who was ever so friendly, welcoming, kind and helpful. Breakfast each morning was delicious and personally prepared by Juilia. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to my closest family and friends and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when I next visit Rome

TaiwanNothing. If anything you may give feedback to the owner, and she will be helpful to help solve your problem timely.
The owner of the hotel was very kind and helpful. She prepared the breakfast for us every morning, and even helped on delivering the belonging that we forgot in the hotel at check-out. The location is near to the tourist sights. I would definitely recommend the hotel!

NetherlandsI loved the accommodation and would return any day.
Giulia is a very friendly and loving person. She is a great host and makes a you a good breakfast. She enjoys the company and makes your stay feel as coming home. The bed is comfortable and though the bathroom is small, it is all you need. The location allows you to call the pope your neighbor and the bus to the colosseum is just around the corner.

United KingdomThe apartment is well located, very close to the Vatican City. We walked all over Rome from there, didn't use the metro once. It was very easy to get to the apartment from the airport by train, then two stops on the metro, and a short walk from the metro station to the apartment. The apartment is a very high standard, clean, tidy and everything you need, we had a balcony, which was a nice little extra, you'll have the best night sleep ever, the mattresses is one of the best we've ever had in all our travels. Giulia is a wonderful host, who is on hand if you need anything, and makes the most amazing scrambled egg!! Highly recommend.

RomaniaThe walls are quite thin in the building and you can very easily hear the neighbours from the apartment above or from the kitchen of the guest house.
The guest house is at walking distance from Vatican and very close to the Bus stations. Giulia is an amazing host and the breakfast she prepares to order is very delicious. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was clean.

LatviaGuila is a perfect woman, her care and conversations in the breakfasts will remind your childhood because of her mother care behaviors. She has my full respect with her ambition and strong character staying on her feet in a big city. I will definitely stay again at her place next time in Rome. The place is super close to Vatikan and since there are always a huge queue in Vatikan after 10am, staying here is a perfect choice. Our best regards and love to Guila:)

Julia was a most hospitable host. Fabulous breakfasts, great location, room well set up for travellers with luggage and super comfortable bed. She also saved us time, worries and money by recommending the train to Civitavecchia instead of the shuttle transfers we had already booked, but were able to cancel with a full refund. Even if we couldn’t get our refund, it would still have been less money than the taxi to the shuttle pickup. You couldn’t ask for a nicer host.
