Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyLocation it is in a scary area. Reception of the place was messy and bad smells. The bedroom itself was dark and bed super uncomfortable. Toilet cleaning does not exist on this hostel: completely disgusting I would classify it, honestly. I am a very simple person, I do not request fancy places at all, however the minimum standards of hygiene is a must and it was not observed on this dependences of this hostel.

RussiaThere's no kitchen. Location is in walking distance from centre but still a little bit far. Price is a bit expensive but fine for last minute request in Roma
Reception/check in is not 24/7 but sometimes works at nighttime. There's a kettle available as well as an entrance to a summer terrace.

NetherlandsOne of the toilets kept flushing every 3 minutes. It would even rain in the cubicle because wall mounted tank was missing it’s lid so they just had some plastic tied down over the top. Showers were gross along with the bathroom in general. They were clearly cobbled together to accommodate more people.
Everyone I encountered, staff and travellers were very nice. Beds were decent and clean. Felt decently safe being a solo female traveller. There were quite a few other women, which was nice.

ArgentinaThe hostel needs way a lot of love. Rooms as okay, beds as well, but the restrooms can be improved a lot. There is only 1 toilet for all men. There is no door btw showers and main corridor, so if you go out of the shower naked, people passing across the corridor can see you. There should be some kind of separation.. the courtyard could have a wall paint or something, some lights to make it more welcoming..
Beds are quite comfortable and rooms are confortable.

FinlandThe location of the hostel is a little bit away from the city centre. The environment near to hostel does not seem secure because of diverse ethnic immigrants who are dwelling on the streets and selling various "stuffs".

PolandThe bathroom is in quite a bad condition. In the male part there is only one toilet and two showers. Showers do not provide enough privacy.
The location of the hostel is rather central. It takes only a half an hour walk to get to the Colosseum. The staff of the hostel is friendly and they're trying to keep the place clean.

Colombiathe hygiene of the bathroom was horrid (though i admit in part it's about how caring the people are... i can´t believe how some of y'all been raised) and the shelves had a layer of dust and hairs meaning its hadnt been wiped in at least a week. also the bedsheets seemed clean but the duvet cover had spots) there's a closet in each room filled with things of staff, meaning nowhere to place bags/coats, everything has to be left on the floor and it gets messy. In the room is a tiny tiny fridge completely insufficient for a room that hosts 8 people. (and the kitchen is just a microwave aand a kettle, not even teabags) also the closest metro station is 15 mins walking away. but its close to porta maggiore which has useful bus and tram lines. if yoou're planning on saving money on transport and walking everywhere take into account that the closest spot is the Colosseum.... 2km away (30 min walking) I know it's a budget option and Roma is an expensive city, but 22e a night for what it offers (no breakfast, unclean bathrooms, not really central location) its WAY too expensive. ps: the photos border on scam territory lol
the system of the keys is very practical (for the building, the hostel, and the locker), and even though the lockers are very small it's good to be given a lock and key.

ItalyThere was no breakfast like croissant or coffee as said in the description. There was problems with hot water so we couldnt use the showers first 2 days. There is only one toilet on the men side. There is not much of a sound isolation even though we had a whole room to ourselves.
