How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Being a very new hotel not all of the facilities, like the spa, we’re open and I feel that’s his should have been mentioned when booking but otherwise the place is fantastic and I look forward to returning one day
Staff were incredible and exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, The location was decent and only a short walk to other places of interest The rooftop terrace is really lovely. Its pretty pricey but worth sitting up there one evening for the view and the food was actually pretty delicious!

Nothing at all!
One of the best hotels we've experienced! Everything from the staff, location, facilities and service were amazing. The hotel has so many lovely touches such as a speaker in the rooms, wireless charging devices and very chic furniture. The staff were excellent and so very helpful, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We loved staying here and will definitely only stay here when we return back to Rome. Thank you for making our trip so lovely!

Everything was perfect!! The staff is really nice, friendly and very helpful. Giulia at the front desk is amazing, she helped us organizing our transfers, city recommendations and tours. We highly recommend this hotel, if you want to have a great time in Roma!! And what a great terrace!!

The hotel just opened so some things still need to be fixed, but it is an excellent hotel. The staff were really amazing, very helpful and kind. Breakfast really good, fresh local products. Rooms amazing, very comfortable bed, and the minibar free :)

King room was tiny. Claustrophobic. No storage for folded clothes. Had to live out of our luggage; but no room for luggage. One chair for 2 people. Hotel is still under construction; no spa or gym as advertised.
Good location. Very nice staff. Clean. Very good restaurant and roof bar on the premises. Very nice bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Towels and linens were very good. Toiletries supplied by the hotel were good.

Our room was on the 4th floor, just beneath the breakfast/dinner area. After dinner service the area was switched back to breakfast configuration with a lot of noise coming through the ceiling (rearranging furniture), impossible to sleep until 00h30.
First morning very good, second morning new and very unprofessional staff.

This was not a nice experiance, a ”design” hotel without a soul or an understanding to how to greet new guests. Start with overcharging us 60 euros for two ordinary cocktails to the room?? By overcharging Your guests as some unserious tourist restaurants in Rome do is NOT the way other five star hotels like Sofitel, Marriot or Four seasons do, and it for ever destroys the ”feeling” one was hoping to recieve. But thanks to the amazing five star Hotel Lucarno at least our trip to Rome in all was amazing! Dont appritiate to ”be ripped of” its unserious! Although the hotel corrected the price blaiming the extern restaurant someone still tried to overcharge us and the feeling was never the same!
The room it self was beautiful! But a five star hotel must offer so much more than a nice room….

There is a nightclub/late bar on the top 2 floors, our room was directly under it so could not sleep until music and clean up finished at 2am. We complained and were given a room on a lower floor but could still hear the music until late in the night. Also as noted by other reviewers the swimming pool and spa was not open but we were made aware of this before we arrived.
Rooms were very comfotable, front of house staff were friendly and helpful, the rooftop restaurant was great and were welcoming to our kids. When we asked to move room it was compelted quickly

When you are a Rome first-timer, willing to pay premium and looking for a flawless stay, skip First Musica. Yes, the staff is friendly and helpful but just unexperienced. The atmosphere is awkward and unauthentic. Only two floors are opened so far and the 'spa' is closed. Roof terrace service is hilariously amateuristic. We felt this hotel is stil in an experimental stage, on so many levels. The five Booking.com stars should be reduced to 3 for the time being.
Breakfast when included in room charge is good, albeit slow.
