How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is nothing that we disliked. It was perfect!!
It was amazingly clean and inviting and had everything we needed. Daniele was very informative, helpful and kind. We loved the neighborhood and interacting with the locals. We appreciated the fact that we weren’t in the city center but close enough to everything we wanted to see and do.

One of the best stays of our entire lives, Daniele was such an amazing host. He gave us a map with loads of advice about Rome and where to visit, and sent me plenty of food recommendations. The room was clean and modern, and there were fresh towels every day. It is in a gated community so always felt extremely safe and cosy, and the neighbourhood is very safe also. Couldn’t possibly recommend it more!

Daniele is a really freindly and helful host. In general, it is a relly nice place and area, so I recommend people to visist The Roman San Giovanni way :). The location was good, but bear in mind that to go to the must turistic places you need to take a bus.

It is a shared apartment, with little soundproofing. If you are unlucky (as I was) you might have noisy neighbors and it is not pleasant.
The place was very clean. The owner of the place was convenient for my arrival and helpful.

We spent two nights in The Roman Way and I must say that everything was simply excellent!!! I give 5 stars!!!The room was very clean and cosy, a bed was spacious, a great shower. There was everything necessary for a comfortable stay. I fell in love with the courtyard, which is green and isolated from the city’s hustle and bustle. Special thanks to Daniele, I’ve never met such a welcoming and helpful host!!! Definitely recommend this accommodation! I would stay here again the next time I am in Rome. Grazie mille! 🤍

The rooms are very spacious and modern. They clean the rooms very carefully every day. The staff and the host are very kind and always there to help. The provide water, coffee and snacks and will help you with everything you need! The location of the property is just 20 mins walk from the Colloseum and has a lot of nice restaurants around it.

This was one of the best accommodation experience so far. A day before our stay, we were guided to the location, provided with all needed information. Daniele is so kind and professional. Daniele is a very good and helpful host. The room is exactly as it looks in the photos. The cleaning services were exceptional, as they cleaned the room daily. It was a quiet room, perfect for a couple. The location is a little out of the touristic center, but close enough with the metro. I strongly suggest that you stay here and I would definitely stay there in case I revisit Rome.

You get what your paying for - it’s not a five star hotel, but a really nice and comfortable, cheap stay. Please mind that there are other rooms in the apartment and the common area is just a kitchenette and entry area.

It took some time to get the hot water. Otherwise everything was exactly as expected.
The host was very nice and the communication was super quick and clear. Rooms were cleaned every day, good service. The location was 8-10min from metro station, which was quite good. We definitely enjoyed our stay there!

The room was extremely clean and spacious. The apartment is close to a metro and there’s a great coffee shop right in front of the building, which is really useful when you want to make the most of your day in Rome. Also, Pietro and Daniele were super nice and helpful! They gave us food recommendations and shared a map of the city with us to help us get around.
