Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandNo cutleries and knife for making your own breakfast. For one night it is ok, but not for several when you stay longer.
Exellent location and no noise from a lively street (windows were well insulated) Very comfortable bed and a good shower. Truly can recommed Genova, the palaces were great and don’t forget Palazzo Principle Andrea Doria near the railway station, that was the best. Take funiculars up and walk down along the narrow streets 😊

United KingdomWe thought we had booked a one bedroom flat with a separate bedroom so were disappointed to be allocated a studio style room. The kitchen area is a cramped alcove in the bathroom. We wanted to cook but apart from plates the other equipment was minimal. The WiFi worked but was weak.
Very well located in the old town. We were given precise instructions about how to access the property. It felt safe and secure. The ceiling was interesting and colourful.

BulgariaWe had a late flight and instead of the evening we went to the apartment in the morning, we only wanted two hours to shower, charge our phones and vacate at 11 o'clock. The employee was drunk, didn't speak English and it was very difficult for us to understand each other. In the end he let us into the apartment, but after 30 minutes of explaining what happened. It was difficult for her to understand that we had paid for the night, but because of the flight we did not check in in the evening, but arrived in the morning.

RomaniaUnfortunately the lack of a lift/elevator the staircase is tiny but its understandable once its about a very old property and to build in a lift is basically impossible so you must be ready for climbing up some stairs depending on which floor you get your accomodation. And of course, its not suitable for people stuck in wheelchairs,,unfortunatey. This is the main reason we gave 9 instead of 10.
We enjoyed a lot our staying at this beautiful one room flat for 2 nights in Genoa. The location is superb, just right in the middle of the old downtown,a lot of facilities nearby like cheap restaurants, tourist highlights, cleanness a carrefour supermarket just around the corner!!! The flat wasnt so big but large enough to fit/match our needs and demands,we are very grateful to the kind owner of this beautiful flat, signora Daniela, its a very beautiful accommodation its silent enough well protected from the outside once its located in a very crowded part of the old town.GRAZIE MILLE Signora Daniela!!Overall,at tis price range we enjoyed our staying and we were VERY IMPRESSED BY THE SAFETY MEASURES against thieves and burglars, the whole accommodation is WELL PERFECTLY SECURED and you dont have to worry about those usual threats so common, unfortunately in Italy s most important tourist sites. The safety secure measures includes cctv camera so your staying there is really safe!!!!!! We wish you all the best from the bottom of our hearts, warmest greetings and more and more travellers!!!!Grazie Mille!!!!Zoe&Adrian.

AustraliaThe apartment we stayed in was at the top of the building this accommodation does not have any elevators and there are lots of stairs, as this place is located in the old part of town this may be expected. Shower is very small and wouldn't recommend opening the windows as the city smell is not pleasant.
The painting on the ceiling is beautiful, apartment was clean. Staff provided extra towels and were super helpful. The bed is reasonably comfortable.

HungaryThe kitchen and bathroom should be bigger, and because it's in the pedestrian street, parking and taking luggages are more difficult.. That's why not 10 points.
This is the apartmant, wich represents how has to be prepared and equipped a perfect accomodation. Absolutely clean, spacious, with all of stuffs kitchen and bathroom tools and everything all, that you need. In addition with some extra kindness like fruit, olive oil, biscuits etc. Lies in the heart of Genova, good wifi, and great communication.

IsraelIt was hard to find the entrance with given instructions, so I had to make a call to the housekeeper (while I was in roaming it was a bit unpleasant).
The location is great, we were right in the city center. When we wanted to walk we needed just to make a step out. Also, the ceiling is painted so you can lay down and view at it.

United KingdomThe kitchen was a bit disappointing because it was just fitted in a kind of wardrobe, and the toilet paper holder was damaged. Also, if you are arriving with a baby/toddler, keep in mind that there is no loft in there as this is an old building, and there are about 5 or 6 levels.
The location is exceptional!!! Everything is right on your foot

United KingdomLoved this place. Great location. Daniella who is the host/housekeeper was super nice, friendly and helpful. She doesn't speak English but is very efficient at using her translate app plus gestures! The upper apartments are up a very narrow flight of steps akin to a bell tower. Once through the electronic gate there's 16 steps to the first floor. Second floor +20. Third floor +21. Fourth floor +19 - Fifth floor +15 - Sixth floor +16. (107 steps from entrance) Seventh floor +19 and FINALLY a small roof terrace +10 where one can sunbathe/ recover. Not appropriate for heavy suitcases or if you are not very fit. Be warned. Maybe check if there is a lower floor available if you don't fancy the climb. We looked upon it as part of our daily exercise Sixth floor room huge - Kitchen is very basic but usable (with fridge and electric kettle) Shower - phone box size - but usable. Some fruit, cartons of juice and some sweets included. Aircon worked well. Location wise the property is excellent. Very close to the harbour (2 mins) and ferries to other coastal places. Plus a huge aquarium. Roam the back streets for a wide variety of shops and restaurants. There's a great Focaccia place down at the harbour, left outside the property and then left again when at the harbour. (it's called IL GENOVINO) Coffee next door. The metro station De Ferrari ( the airport bus stops here according to season - but double check) is 5 minutes away but it's very easy to get lost through the maze of back streets. Sometimes took us up to 30 minutes!! But it's fun. A small supermercato (Carrefour Express) is just around the corner Recommend this apartment highly.

SwitzerlandNoise, but that's what you pay for the location. The building is narrow with one room per floor, no elevator. We were on the 6th floor, so it was bit of a workout everytime. Though for fairness, it was declared before and the owner gave us 6th floor because we needed more space. So can't really complain.
Excellent location, close to water and in middle of old town. Train station is only about 1.5km, with good access to metro. Nice renovated rooms with basic kitchen and bathroom.
