Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe room was a little small but really had everything we needed in it. We didn't have a problem with the stairs but I guess somebody with mobility issues might like to go for a room on one of the lower floors.
This is a beautifully restored old building a short walk from everything in central Siena. We were on the top floor and the view from our room was magnificent!! Sara on reception was friendly and interesting to talk to and couldn't have been nicer to us. The room was very comfortable.

United StatesMy husband felt the room was a bit small, but then again this is in an older building and I thought they did a great job updating the place, but keeping the the medieval look as well.
The manger, Adele was wonderful with check-in, very helpful with local information and recommendations. She answered all the many questions we had being new to the area! The place and room was extremely clean!

MaltaLoved our stay in this hotel. It is a quaint place with only few rooms. Although not equipped with a lift, the host offered to help with luggages herself and if I am not mistaken there is also a room on ground floor which you can request rather than missing out on this hotel. The owner helped us with parking to be able to be close enough to park our cars and walk. It was a 5 minute walk to street parking as inside the city one cannot enter without a permit. Also close to the centre (Torre del Mangia etc) which is only 7 mins away on foot. Room was lovely and extremely clean! Loved it and wished we could spend more nights here. Definitely recommend!

Amazing hosts! Super friendly and gave us fantastic advice on Siena and recommendations for dinner etc. They have though of everything in regards to the comfort of the room, no detail has been missed. They have succeeded in keeping the integrity of the historical tower but with all modern comforts. Just so welcoming and warm.

BelgiumFrom the moment we walked in, we felt welcome! The rooms were very nice: full of history but with all the modern facilities, and very, very clean. The location is very central, yet in a slightly more quiet corner of the city. Just a 5 minute walk to the main square, making it a perfect place to explore Siena from! Would definitely recommend!

United StatesI can not think of anything. There is no elevator which will be a situation for some, but the hotel is eager to accommodate all guests' needs and are very clear about how many steps are involved if you need to know.
We had a wonderful experience. This is a beautiful and restful place to stay. The bathroom and beds are immaculate and comfortable. Very modern. There is a high level of hospitality here. Very warm reception. I would definitely rebook if I am lucky enough to return to Siena. Excellent communication on security codes and check-in procedures. We stayed in five different hotels during our trip to Italy but our stay in Siena was the best because this hotel is so well managed.

United StatesNothing, we loved it all, would stay again and recommend for sure but I would pack lighter next time b/c the stairs are no joke and I felt terrible when Sara insisted in carting it up to the top floor for me; she’s indomitable.
Awesome service; Sara went above and beyond for our stay and even helped with taxis and dinner reservations. Convenient location, efficient use of small space in wonderfully renovated historic building. Clean, comfortable, hospitable. Wonderful view from top floor across rooftops and out to countryside.

RomaniaThe view from our window was nothing special, just the apartments from the near building but they have other rooms with nice views.
We loved Sara, our host and really felt she was caring for her guests. Always with a smile on her face she was ready to go above and beyond to help us with everything from a late check-in to finding us a taxi and helping us with tips for cafés and getting to other cities. The place was recently renovated and the choice of colours, lights and natural materials creates a cosy yet modern appearance. The location is in a quiet and safe area, close to historical center and Piazza del Campo and you can find nice cafés, gelaterias, pizzerias and bars on Via di Pantaneto. Local products cand be found at the Conad City supermarket with is just around the corrner. The nearby Basilica Santa Maria dei Servi is well worth a visit for its beautiful paintings and also for the nice view over the city.

United StatesThere was nothing not to like. Some people might have a problem with the lack of an elevator, but it's a beautiful, renovated staircase with original marble.
This is the kind of hotel you dream of finding. Proprietors who have created a polished oasis and who are devoted to providing hospitality. Located close to Porta Roma. It would be hard to find a more perfect place to enjoy Siena. The rooms in this 16th century tower are necessarily a little small, but they make up for it with gobsmacking views of the Tuscan countryside. And the shower is large and terrific.
