How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was great !
Clean and tidy apartment - location perfect and hosted wonderfully. Quiet street but so close to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Barberini Metro 150m away so perfect base for exploring Rome.

Nothing, everything was perfect.
Mimma and her husband arranged the airport transfer and were there to meet us with the keys and show us around the apartment. Prior to arrival Mimma sent us links to book attractions and recommendations of restaurants and shops in the local area. We only had a very short walk to the Trevi fountain so the location was superb. Best hosts we have every come across in many years of travelling.

The laneway is a bit grotty but the location and features of the apartment more than make up for this. We always felt safe.
Great central location one street back from the main road and a short walk to the metro and Trevi Fountain. We were met at the apartment by Mimma who showed us around and provided recommendations for restaurants etc nearby. Very comfortable beds, lovely towels and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Mimma took great care to make sure we felt at home, she arranged our airport transfers and even provided some food and drinks. The apartment was perfect for us with our 2 teenagers.

The size, location, hosts - everything thing was perfect. Attention is given to the smallest detail, Mimma and Luigi als went out of their way to assist us, there even was a little Christmas tree. The best apartment we've ever rented on booking.com

We had such a great time staying at this location! It was walking distance to all the major attractions! The apartment was clean and very welcoming! The host Mimma was also wonderful! She greeted us very kindly and even had a guide of the best places to go to and also a map so we had something to refer to when wanting to go the major attractions! Overall, this was a great experience, and will stay here again when we visit Rome!

We couldn’t fault anything!

We liked everything.
It is an oasis of calm in frenetic Rome, close to good restaurants, bars and shops. The decor is very tasteful and the kitchen has everything you need and more. The bathrooms are also well appointed. The elevator while old school has modern mechanism. Mimmi, the owner, could not have been more helpful.

The only thing we had was the pillows on the beds but this was not just here but at all of the apartments we stayed at. We are used to harder and thicker pillows that's all

Can think of nothing other than being robbed on the metro which has nothing to do with the Trevi Apartment. It was great in all respects
The apartment was spacious and clean and so well appointed. Every detail was perfect. Our hostess was delightful and very accommodating in allowing us to store our luggage in the apartment before check in time and provided storage area for it again at checkout. Other than my husband getting pickpocketed on the metro from his front pockets and almost immediately losing our cash and credit cards...please beware of this nasty Rome condition..all was well. We were also warned of this by our hostess, but you think this only happens to others, I guess. Wonderful historic building in an extremely conveniently located part of Rome. A delightful one night stay with plenty of room for ourselves, my son and wife and two grandchildren...ages 8 and 10.
