Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyBathroom was not clean - not for sharing it with of other people but because of very long-term dirt. The furniture was very very old and bad working. With a small investment the owner could do great things!!!
Well connected to the city, to the railway station, to supermarkets and movida. Nice balcony from where you can see the seaside.

ChileIF YOU ARE A WOMAN AND ARE TRAVELING ALONE, DO NOT STAY! JUST DON'T DO IT. I RUN OUT OF THIS HOSTEL AT 5AM, I DID NOT SLEEP FROM FEAR AND I PUT A CHAIR AT THE DOOR AND ANOTHER ON THE BALCONY. I COULDN'T START BEFORE, BECAUSE I ARRIVED LATE; BY THE TIME THE OPTION WAS TO STAY OR SLEEP ON THE STREET. THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN WHEN I REALIZED THAT IN ADDITION TO DIRTY (USED SHEETS AND CUSHION, DISGUSTING SMELL); THE PLACE HAD A TURBID AND DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT; 1. THE HYGIENIC PRESENTATION OF THE OWNER AND HIS STRANGE ATTITUDE WAS THE 1* RED FLAG; THE DIRT PASSED TO THE BACKGROUND, WHEN I Saw THAT MY ROOM HAD FREE ACCESS THROUGH THE BALCONY TO THAT OF A PERSON WHO SLEEPED IN PRECARIOUS CONDITIONS IN A KIND OF KITCHEN; IN THE OTHER ROOM OF THE FLOOR THERE WAS ANOTHER MAN WHO DON'T STOP WALKING ALL NIGHT, I LOOKED OUT TO SEE THROUGH THE WINDOW AND IN HIS REFLECTION OF THE LIGHT HE APPEARED TO BE TAKING COCAINE; AT 4am I wrote to the owner if he was the man who walked at night; he gave me different answers and no logic. IT WAS TERRIFIC I JOIN THE REVIEW of: “NADYA-08/21/23 that unfortunately I read when he was already dying of fear in the room. there are more comments ESTER 08/2/23- Olga 08-29-23”. BOOKING HAS BEEN RESPONSIBLE for these cases!

ItalyVery dirty from the entrance, to the room, to the bathroom. The door in the bathroom has a crack down the middle, the light barely works hardly visible, make sure to close the windows BC the blinds lead to another room ( I think its something that should have been mentioned when showing the place) and you can see into the washroom . The rooms don't have AC but not a problem because they have a balcony until you realize that the person you don't know in the room next door has full access to your room through the balcony, I'm a solo female traveler and I didn't feel uncomfortable or safe. I was there for not even 30 min and had to leave. I've been traveling on this trip to Europe for almost 3 months and never had to leave anywhere until this place, ITS HORRIBLE!!!. I called booking.com and they spoke to the owner he agreed to refund the full amount but then only gave a partial amount. I wouldn't stay here if they paid me. Pictures: bed, bathroom with the light on, shared balcony, crack on bathroom door with tape over it.

United StatesThis place was worse than I expected. To start, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the apartment felt overall insecure and wasn’t up to cleaning standards. That being said, the biggest issue for me was the owner. I only booked this place for one night, and I checked in late because of a delayed train, so he left the keys under the mat so I could get in. Although, after checking in he wouldn’t stop messaging me about the €1.5 tourist tax he wanted me to pay. As I was exhausted from traveling the whole day, all I wanted to do was sleep and he came around the apartment at 1am to collect this literal €1.50 fee he wanted me to leave under the mat. At the time I didn’t have any cash, so I told him I’d leave it tomorrow, but even then he continued to message me until 1:30am in the morning about this ridiculous fee. The fact that he couldn’t respect his guests personal space made me extremely uncomfortable and all I wanted to do was leave this place as fast as possible. The next day he tried to convince me to stay longer and was going to offer me the room for €20. So he knew the rooms were overpriced… It was obvious to me that he didn’t care at all about his guests well-being and just wanted a few extra euros however he could get them. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I hope the owner can learn to respect his guests.

GreeceI had booked for a room with a double bed, a balcony and a sea view. It was supposed to be on the 2nd floor. One day before my arrival, the owner contacted me and wrote that there were 2 other people in the apartment asking if I wanted to move downstairs. I arrived in Tropea. The downstairs apartment had no fridge, it was very hot already mid June. He said tha a fridge was upstairs, so I moved there. The apartment was dirty and stinking, no light in the corridor, the bathroom was also dirty. There was a fridge at the corridor and the kitchen was used also as a room for rent with a bed inside..my room was small, no balcony but mosy it smelled very bad, hair was in the bed sheet and it was filthy. Bathtub was colour grey. Never cleaned, no toilet paper. This was a cheating booking. I should be refunded my money and the Booking should not accept this place in their web site. If people want to earn money on a travellers behalf, then this is a scam, it is robbery.
.Nothing. It was my worst stay with the www.booking.cim. I should be refunded my money as I was cheated, i had not booked such a dirty and filthy place. No balcony, no Seaview, no double bed, and it was so bad smelling and filthy. This is cheating.
