Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe had a kettle in the room but no cups or other facilities. We had a fridge but the flex wasn't long enough to plug it in. We had a wardrobe but couldn't access it as an extra bed was in the way. When we arrived we had to register at a different address, which was difficult to find.
The location was good and close to Metro.

SwitzerlandThere was a bedbug infestation in my room which has caused enormous problems for myself, my work and put other people at risk. About once an hour the wifi would stop working properly started requesting many sign-ins over and over again for about 15 minutes.

Czech Republic- Not a hotel, they will just rent you a room. No option of breakfast. - The adress is different from what is stated here, it's actually White Vatican (Via Catone 21). I don't understand how this is even possible. - Room and its equipment was very old, very different from what you see in the photos. Many sockets not working. - Small room, hardly any space to walk around the bed. - Many times the reception was empty (I guess someone is there only if they are expecting new guests to arrive). - No daily cleaning "due to covid". You should tell them at the reception if you wanted to clean your room. But, as I said, they were often not there. - Only cold water on the last 2 days of a 10-day stay. - Very slow wi-fi.
- Great locality very close to the Vatican and Ottaviano metro station. - Small refrigerator in the room. - Air conditioning in the room.

United StatesEVERYTHING ELSE. The check-in process was extremely difficult. The advertising on the website was extremely deceptive. Scam like. The ac didn’t work. Not private. Lights broken. Smelled horrible of cigarettes. We specifically asked for a room (and paid for) with a balcony facing the Vatican - there was no view. The Wi-Fi did NOT work as we had a shared router between several other rooms. The keys were confusing and not clear - very sticky in the locks. Linens were not clean. Bathroom was tiny. When we checked in, other guests came out of their room agreeing to the scam.
Close to Vatican. That’s the ONLY positive.

SwitzerlandTHERE WERE BED BUGS IN THE BED! WE COULDN‘T SLEEP! I Asked the owners to give us a proper room without bed bugs, because we were intimidated pf all the reviews. Turns out they are true. The rooms are nasty and full of bugs. Also they changed our room from our booking and it doesn’t look like what they advertise online. Worst hotel ever! DO NOT BOOK!
The Hotel is well located near the Vatican and is in a nice area with a lot of shops and restaurants.

When I enetered the room , I was told that I received one of the best standard rooms, however the room didn t look like any of the ones presented as deluxe room. GermanyWhat we booked according to the decription and did NOT get: - 20 sqm large deluxe bedroom - modern furniture (really nice pictures, which were obviously faked!) - modern, clean, daylight bathroom - shared kitchen (or any kind of kitchen at all) - couch in the room - kettle, coffee machine, safe Instead we got the follwing: - realocation into a different accomodation (we booked Vatican Heart, but ended in White Vatican with different address) - small room (max 14 sqm) full of old furniture, barely space to walk or put luggage for two persons - room was not looking like on the pictures at all: different size, different bed, different furniture, different bathroom, ... - uncomfortable beds - noisy street - old bathroom, broken shower with mold - wardrobe filled with wet, stinky towels (it took hours to get the smell out of the room). We put these towels in the corridor and informed the staff, but they kept laying there for two more days We complained about the room, but the staff was not interested and kept claiming, it was the same standard as advertised, which was definitely not true (you can tell from the pictures we share). We are sure that the pictures of the advertised room at booking.com were taken from the internet and the room does not exist, because the staff claimed it was "under maintenance" and we could not visit it. I specifically asked for a kettle, but did not receive one in six days of our stay although I was pregnant and wanted to drink tea. To conclude, we will never come back and nobody should book this fake-picture rip-off, as it is totally not worth the money we paid (100 euro per night and we did not get any compensation for this fraud)!

United States1. The actual address is different from the listing. 2. The property pictures are from the different property (Bait-and-Switch). 3. The receptionist was no help.We asked for trauma emergency room (broken finger) and he provided address of the eye doctor. 4. No room cleaning. We were staying for 8 nights - 0 times cleaning. 5. The room was not cleaned with visible dirt from the previous occupants. 6. There was only 1 chair, no table. The furniture is old and beaten up. 7. The shower drain was blocked. 8. The faucet was loose and leaking water on the sink countertop and down on the floor. it was secured, after we called the receptionist, but it was still leaking water on the countertop, making a lake there. 9. There was no ventilation in the room, that was causing a water condensation on the walls and the wall paint was pealing off in some places. 10. The window was facing a busy street with a lot of traffic noise. We had to sleep with closed window and and wake up several times over night, to open it up and get some fresh air.
The good thing is location. Right next to Vatican City. It's worth mentioning here, that, after we asked, they gave us an electric kettle and an iron.

United StatesI was booked at the Vatican Heart, but I was told to show up at another location instead. I was sent to the White Vatican, apparently owned by the same company. It was truly a "bait and switch" move. The room was horrible. There was barely room to walk around the bed. The airconditioning unit was barely functioning and was dripping water all over the floor. I quickly went to the reception to ask for a bucket to put under the drip. By the time I left the room the bucket was nearly full. I decided it was best to just shut it off and open the window. Fortunatly is was cool enough outside to keep the room comfortable.
Location was not bad, however all else was a horror show .

AustraliaOur stay at Vatican Heart was awful. We were sent to an alternate destination which was VERY different from the pictures. The new place looked like we were staying in a dorm room at a cheap hostel. The facilities were bad and check in was unprofessional. There was no air conditioning or fans and in 40 degree Rome heat, this was so bad. We had booked for 2 nights but had to leave a night early as the beds were infested with bed bugs. Our beds were then covered in blood from the bed bugs. We also found blood smears on the wall so it was obvious that this wasn’t the first time guests had experienced this! This was my worst travel experience at a hotel ever.

United KingdomThe room had insects on the ceilings. So it was impossible to stay in the first room. We have changed for another room that was so small that suitcases could not fit. The beds were uncomfortable to sleep however we had a choice of insects or a small room. So the choice was obvious to stay in the little room. On the last day of our stay, we discovered a skin allergy over the whole body that was not covered by PJs. It was a nightmare for which we paid by ourselves. We strongly want to return the money we have paid for the room as compensation for such a horrible stay.

Francethe worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. there rooms are clearly not maintained : very dirty, old furniture, …. Also the room is humid with a constant smell of smoke. The room was a totally different one from the ones in the pictures, even at a different location. The service and communication was Zero, someone even came at our door one day saying that we were supposed to check out even though we had still one night. even if the pictures and price are attractive , do NOT RECOMMEND !!!!
