Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Austria1. One has to climb some steps and walk a narrow passage to reach the apartment, so it's a bit of a hassle with bags 2. There are no windows in both bedrooms 3. Could find a toaster and water heater base was missing 4. There's no connecting Terrasse or balcony
Comfortable accommodation, nice bathroom, comfortable beds. Francesco helped us with the bags and was helpful.

CanadaWhile the place is quiet, the refrigerator made a whooshing sound. The pool was closed for the season.
In the off season Canneto is a quiet seaside town, which we quite liked. Buses between Canneto and Lipari run reliably according to schedule. The bus stop in Lipari is right outside the ferry terminal and in Canneto you get off at the church. The place is a couple of blocks up the hill from the church (not too steep). It’s an older place with rustic charm, spacious and comfortable, although softer pillows would have been nice. Lots of hot water, good wifi. Highly recommend Aliante travel agency to arrange boat excursion to Stromboli and the bar that’s a couple of blocks away for meals.

PolandWe really liked our stay - the neighborhood is very nice, quiet and very close to the beach. The trees and shrubs around the house keep the area pleasantly cool, even on hot days. The terrace was our favorite place to eat the breakfasts and read books - we also had an amazing sea view from there. Very close to the house, we had a bakery, few supermarkets, tabacco shop, caffe, fish shop and a pier from which ships sailed to other islands. Concerning our host, Patrizia - she was great. She organized a trip to Volcano and Panarea + Stromboli from the sea. She was very kind, helpful and patient. She prepared for us fresh fruits and water, in the kitchen we had everything we needed to prepare food including spices, tea, coffee, olive oil etc. She was answering all our questions, making sure we were ok and advising us places to see, eat, rent a scooter etc. There was also another lady, Tania, if I remember well, she was also very kind - she offered us khaki fruits from the local tree and entertained us with a conversation from time to time. We regret we didn't book a longer stay - I wish I could enjoy the peace and beauty of this island for longer. Maybe we will come back - then we will definitely contact Patrizia to book a stay again.

United StatesTHAT VIEW. It felt like such a privilege to wake up and come home every day to such a breathtaking vista and the peace and quiet of an island village. It was so nice to be close to all the amenities of Lipari without being IN the tourist zoo—it forced us to slow down, which was exactly what we needed. It’s a short (albeit steep) walk uphill from a lovely stone beach, excellent cafe, and the best breakfast spot we’ve found so far in Sicily. Patrizia was a wonderful host—she gave great recommendations for food and also hooked us up with a boat ride that was one of the highlights of our vacation. We would LOVE to come back for a longer stay.

United KingdomThe appartment was a great location to base a family in Lipari. It had a great outdoor space, pool to see the kids and was a 5 min walk to the beach of Canneto. It was well stocked with everything we could need to eat outdoors, relax and explore the island. Our daughter stayed on the sofa bed in the kitchen which worked well. It was a nice cool space during the hot afternoons too. There was an amazing view of the sunrise too over the beach - well worth getting up early for.

GermanyCanneto is a few km away from the main town of Lipari with its host of nice restaurants and bars. There is a frequent bus service and Canneto also has some places to go to but transportation definitely has to be taken into account. Like (almost) all beaches on Lipari the spiaggia at Canneto also is made of dark stones (hot, more difficult to get into the water than on Sand). But the water is spectacularly clear!
We stayed in Casa Pompelmo which is a nicely renovated appartment on the premises of Villa Agrumeto. The property has a nice quiet garden area with a small pool and the owner, Patrizia, could not be more caring and helpful, always contactable and friendly! The appartment is well equipped and offers a spectacular view onto the bay and the neighboring islands. So you can watch Mt. Stromboli do its thing in the distance while sipping your morning coffee and eating the sweet delights the bakeries nearby offer. Beach and town center are only 100m away but the location up the hill on a small side street ensures it is quiet. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. You can book boat trips either on the promenade of through Patrizia. WIFI connection is excellent. Given the appartment hosts four guests in two large bedrooms and the amenities and location it is value for money!

United Kingdom1. We had booked a 2 bed and were given a 1 bed last minute which did not look like the photos. 2. Very old apartment and toilet which had continuous issues with not flushing (not caused by paper) and old shower with low pressure and curtain. The bed was very hard making it difficult to sleep and the apartment was filled with someone’s items (maybe someone lived there?) I should have taken some photos to upload here. 3. The host sent a lot of aggressive WhatsApp messages and was very strict with timings and said there was a rule book with WiFi (there wasn’t). Ultimately it caused a lot of stress and a cloud over the trip so we checked out early. 4. The host requested payment in cash for more than the amount on this site. We “negotiated” down to 10 euro more than the amount on this site. 5. Warning - in case it happens to others - the host wanted to mark as a “no show” perhaps so we couldn’t leave an honest review?
Nice terrace and close to a good gelato place.

New ZealandBe aware that if you ask the owner to book a taxi from the port, you will have to pay €25 for the taxi AND €25 for the service of arranging the booking. There are plenty of taxis at the port so just arrange your own.
This accommodation is ok, but quite basic and expensive for what it is. The balcony out the front of our unit was a nice place to sit and there are lots of gardens and trees around. We had a number of quite unpleasant interactions with the owner who was away for the week and seemed determined to treat us with suspicion. However, there are a lot of reviews here saying how nice she is, so perhaps she was just having a bad week.
