The hotel is stunning and the staff were super nice. We booked this hotel because being scottish it had the scottish connection to the owner Jim and it was well worth it. We arrived by car and dumped it outside the hotel and used the hotel shuttle bus service provided every day. You just tell them 30 mins before you want it abd they book you on it. Very convenient. A cocktail on the outside bar verranda every night was made by the lovely bar man and a special mention to Sam (Jiim's nephew) who rescued us after we had mistakenly walked up the hill for miles in the dark trying to find the pizza restaurant. He saw us when riding his motorbike and turned round, stopped and pointed us in the right direction/ downhill!!! The view from our bedroom was spectacular. Mount etna in the distance smoking away! Had a great stay. Would definately recommend.

The need to use shuttle to get to the main part of town.

The staff. All were very nice and accommodating. Antonello did some great cocktails drinks and played some nice classic rock music! The shuttle service was very convenient including the parking. The breakfast and lunch was nice too. The view from the room was spectacular.

The shower was terrible. Even though there was a hand held shower spray, the main shower head above still sprayed straight down.

Nothing to dislike

Perfect location above Taormina, away from the lively resort centre. Tranquil and superb views. Staff of extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet which ample choice for vegetarians. Walk down steps to centre isn’t as bad as it looks but there is the shuttle bus option if required. Would love to go back some time

There are no mini-markets around, so if you need anything special, buy it in advance or go downtown.

For the 1st time ever, the room matched the advertisement. The hotel is situated on a high hill and the room offered magnificent views to Etna, the Taormina seacoast, and the nearby monastery. The room was super clean, the staff was very polite and helpful and cooperated for anything we needed or wanted. Although not in the center of Taormina, the shuttle bus service is always available, and runs in quite frequent intervals, so you can visit downtown anytime you want (it takes 5 minutes).

There are a lot of steps to go to the city center, but we saw it as an advantage to burn some calories after the dinner! For those who do not want to walk, the hotel provides opportunity to use the bus shuttles! Also, it is not easy to come here by car, but in this case you have a perfect view which is worth it!

The place was completely amazing! We have chosen it as one for our honeymoon trip to Sicily. The view was just breathtaking, even the photos do not reveal the real view! The good thing is that you have a private balcony, where you can enjoy the view as much as you want! Literally, we didn’t want to move anywhere from a hotel with such a view! The staff and breakfast were really good, the room was always clean and convenient. This is the place where we would sincerely love to come back.

The only thing I didn’t like was that we were not able to stay longer!!!

The location was stunning!!! Every detail throughout the hotel had so many personal touches . The hotel staff were so accommodating and extremely friendly!! We were also very fortunate to meet some of the family!! This is definitely a hidden gem!!

Extra charge for shuttlebus and parking.

Comfortable, good size room. Great water pressure in shower. Balcony was large with amazing views. Just stupendous! Staff was friendly and helpful. Shuttlebus, at a cost, was convenient. Breakfast was plentiful with choices that would suit most tastes...good choice of fruit, ham, bacon, eggs , pastries, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, coffees, juices, etc Hotel was very clean. Did not use pool but looked inviting.

It’s location above the main town gave fantastic views. Every room is a decent size and bigger than most plus you get your own balcony with table chairs and loungers. Breakfast area was huge with great options. Really friendly and helpful staff. They operate a shuttle bus into town for a small fee.

There was nothing about the property that we did not like.

This is an exceptional property with a spectacular view of Taormina and Mt Etna and yet another example of the wonderful properties that we stayed in whilst traveling around Sicily. Whilst the hotel was a little dated we loved its ambience, the welcoming staff and the generous breakfasts that we enjoyed on the patio overlooking the pool. Parking on the property was an added bonus. We highly recommend this property and would go back again in a heartbeat.

There is no real dinner available,at least during the time that we stayed, we were at the end of the season.

The property has stunning views, and each room with the terrace is so beautiful with a view out onto the ocean and beyond and of course Mount Etna right in front of you. Most of the staff was really helpful and very nice, the location is away from the crowded streets of the main part of Taormina. Breakfast was always great and restaurant recommendations from the staff were very good also .

The property is beautiful and serene and the staff at Villa Angela were exceptional. They went above and beyond their duties to make me feel welcome and to help me when I had some problems to solve. I have never seen or experienced such kindness and dedication in any hotel I have stayed at. Thank you to everyone at Villa Angela, especially Charlie, Ada and Gianpaolo.

Getting to and from is a bit challenging if you’re driving due to the narrow streets and hairpin curves (welcome to Italian hill towns). Parking is difficult, so let the hotel staff park your car.

Very attractive and clean. Superb, friendly staff. Great food for breakfast and lunch; delicious snacks until 9 pm. Restaurant was reasonably priced. Unparalleled views of the volcano and waterfront. Frequent shuttles to and from the historical town.

A little far from city center. A little dated

Beautiful view of the city, friendly staff and the garden suite was huge. The shuttle to and from city center was very easy but there is a nice path you can walk down too.
