Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThis was not a problem for us, but you definitely need a car.
We had a great time in this adorable B&B. You will enjoy the stunning view on Catanio and the Ionic Sea while having your breakfast. If you need an advice, just ask Antonio. He will be happy to help you. You should for sure follow his advice when he recommends a restaurant, we did not regret it.

BelgiumWe stayed here for a few days. We will keep warm memories to our visit and especially to Antonio and his wife. Both people who do this with their heart. You can enjoy the most beautiful view while eating your breakfast on the terrace. Everything is very clean and well maintained as the owners take proud in their b&b. You can cool down in the beautiful pool. We very much enjoyed the spontaneous conversations with other guests and hosts. Definitely worth to recommend if you look for a quiet place to relax.

MaltaNothing worth mentioning but bedside lamps would have been useful.
Our hosts were super friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Villa Antonio is located on a hillside overlooking the city of Catania with seaviews and is only a short drive from the city and the neighbouring seaside towns of Acicastello and Acitrezza, which are popular for their seafood restaurants. It is also a few minutes drive to the north-south east coast highway. The property itself is very clean and WIFI is fantastic. Breakfast was also very good with both salty and sweet options.

MaltaVilla Antonio is situated in a tranquil area of Aci Castello. We had a lovely clean room, good breakfast and the hosts were very helpful. It took us about 10 mins to get to the centre by car. Would recommend the place for anyone interested in staying in Aci Castello.

PolandThe villa is new, our room was spotless clean, spacious, with modern bathroom and an amazing view. The breakfast was very good. When I mentioned I do not like the sweets for breakfast, the owner supplied the breakfast with ham, cheese and tomato. I think it was an incredibly nice gesture.

ItalyThis private mansion with a large, beautiful yard has a stupendous view of the city and the ocean. The rooms are new, clean and well kept. Breakfasts are home-baked with personal service by your host and hostess. You can expect tour advice from your host who is eager to help with your adventure on his beloved island. The other accommodations we have experienced in Sicily do not compare to the pampering you will get at Villa Antonio.

MaltaThe owner is constantly policing guests and even recorded us on CCTV. His arrogant behaviour throughout our 5 day stay has put our family off and will never return.
The villa is nicely decorated and very clean.

United KingdomAs a minimum, guests should not stay here without a car. Taxis from Aci Castello would not take us to this location, and in fact the chef from the restaurant we ate at finally agreed to drive us for 30 EURO. It cost EURO 50 in a taxi to leave the following day and return to Catania. UBER were looking for EURO 80 for the same journey. We likened our check in to being checked into prison with a huge focus on keys, gates and security. The “rules” for using the infinity pool are attached. The accommodation is an unattractive concrete structure, with really basic rooms and facilities, in a very remote area. It is not as described here with hosts who followed us around during breakfast and sat and watched us eat it. There is major construction working happening close by, see photo, so the noise levels are disruptive to any enjoyment the location could provide. We stayed in Sicily for 2 weeks, in many different properties, this was by far the worst and the follow up to our complaint when we returned home, the least satisfactory. While it may not have been the intention of the owners to make us uncomfortable, they did all the time we stayed there.
Nothing. We felt very uncomfortable right from the time we checked in. We left after 1 night despite having booked to stay for 4 nights.
