Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayWe had a lot of trouble with the room being very cold. The air conditioning was supposed to be used as heating as well, but we couldn’t get it to work and there was no one at the reception after 19:00 who could help when we had the problem. It made for some very cold and unfortunately a bit uncomfortable nights.
The view is incredible! Such a cool location and nice staff. The breakfast was also good!

NetherlandsOur room had windows but not to the outside, so we had 0 light in the room and we couldnt air it properly since there was no exit to fresh air, but to the back of the building (its hard to explain), but at the same time it might have been the cheaper rooms only
The terrase was amazing, a big plus! Could eat breakfast there with an amazing view of the town and the sea

CanadaOur room was very basic, but we weren’t in it much so it was fine. Excellent breakfast buffet. The walking instructions said it was 10 minutes from the station. It was closer to 20 and uphill with stairs, but doable for anyone who is reasonably fit. The instructions didn’t mention the elevator…..but DEFINITELY spend the euro/person and take the elevator from beside the church and avoid the last stretch of stairs. Great view when you get up there.

AustraliaThere was a fridge but no kettle, tea, or coffee.
The property was lovely and quiet as it wasn’t in the centre of town but still easy access to the village by lift. The room was large and we had a wonderful balcony to take in the views.

Saudi ArabiaI didn't have as much time to stay as I hoped. Also, the hotel is located on what I would consider the 2nd major terrace above the main road, so there are stairs to get to the hotel or a serpentine road to walk up. The elevator, once you find it, does reduce the amount of stairs significantly.
The staff at Hotel Villa Argentina were remarkably kind and helpful. The breakfast prepared by the staff was absolutely delicious, and the staff graciously ensured you received adequate food and drink before heading out for the day. The freshly prepared juices, teas, and espresso drinks (thankful for the lactose-free milk options) came with an assortment of baked goods, meats, vegetables, and fruits. The room and bed were comfortable, and the view from the balcony was splendid each morning and evening. The shower had plenty of hot water as well.

AustriaBreakfast wasn’t very good, cold hardboiled eggs, low quality of food, not tasty at all. Location was high up above town , there was an elevator, but nobody told us bevor arrival or I didn’t notice.
Very friendly and helpful staff, room was ok, everything working well including aircon, clean, comfortable bed. Luggage was stored on day of departure for free, very helpful.

GermanyThe hanging rails in the wardrobes were fitted very high up making it difficult to hang items on them.
Despite being at the top of the village, the hotel was about 15 to 20 minutes walking from the railway station due to the presence of two lifts, gradually rising walkways and excellent instructions supplied by the hotel. On arrival we were greeted by friendly, kind staff and taken to our room which was in a separate building, a few minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was of good size, very quiet and had good storage space. The bathroom was also of good size with good storage space and an easy to access shower with good temperature and pressure. Unexpected bonuses were the refrigerator in the room and the kettle in the reception area immediately outside. Outside of the building, there was a secluded terrace area with a large parasol and very comfortable seating. Breakfast was served in the main hotel building and could be taken in the breakfast room or up on the terrace. Both areas had lovely views over the town and the sea. It was in the form of a buffet breakfast served to you by the staff from a reasonable range of items. The pistachio croissants were particularly good as was the coffee.

United StatesMake sure you get a taxi number before you arrive. The property is at the top of a giant hill and very hard to reach when you are carrying heavy suitcases. You have to prebook the taxi. The Wi-Fi was not great. The room was small and there was much space for our bags. Breakfast is not self-service which was just a bit awkward to have to ask the staff to make up a plate for you.
The view from the balcony is incredible! Really wow. The staff was kind and helpful. They gave us a pre packed breakfast so we could go hiking early in the morning. The room is small, but comfortable and has everything you could need. The breakfast was tasty. The AC worked really well.
