How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The apartment was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. While private and safe, it included a lovely shared garden, and it was part of a larger complex that included the home of the hosts. And the hosts were wonderful! They provided lots of helpful information about Siena and the area. Maurizio went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed, and he even helped me park my car in the nearby secure parking garage.

Our hosts were so warm and friendly. They had provided some lovely treats to welcome us and went out of their way to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The apartment is very spacious with comfortable beds and new, clean bathrooms. The parking space nearby is very handy, and central Siena only a 10 minute walk away, past some excellent restaurants and bars in a quieter part of town. Local recommendations were greatly appreciated too! Highly recommend this lovely place.

The property had all possible amenities, a true home away from home. The location was also excellent and the provision of a secure parking place is rare in Siena. The hosts were extremely helpful and provided plenty of recommendations on where to visit and where to eat, all of which were ideal!

The stay of 6 days in Villa Bonelli has been formidable. The apartment is spacious, very well equipped, very new in a historic building, with a beautiful garden where you can have a drink. The unbeatable location, in 5 minutes walk in the historic center of Siena and in a pleasant walk in Piazza del Campo. You can park in front of the building, but they also have an underground parking space very close that the Villa offers free of charge. The owners' attention is great. The attention of the owners is magnificent, they are very nice and in particular they offered to solve a small problem of paperwork for us.

My partner found the mattress very soft and without support. I was ok with the mattress.
Comfortable. Well equipped everything. Great Air Conditioning. 15 minute walk to restaurants in the walled town. Wonderful Rainforest Shower & hand shower spray. Spacious bedroom. Spacious living room & kitchen area. Unique ground level cave-style apartment of stones and brick. Really nice inside. Beautifully apportioned and beautifully appointed. Great air conditioning. If we are back in the area, we would consider staying here again. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Greeted us as we pulled up to the address. Very sweet. Ciao for now.

Villa Bonelli reminds us of the reasons why we originally began using sites like Airbnb amd VRBO. Unfortunately, that local hospitality of those sites have been gnerally lost or overpriced. Not here though! The apartment is only a 12 minute walk to the plaza and its clean, spacious, and quiet for a restful night's sleep.. Our host was very accommodating and communicative with the check-in and helpful with the parking (whjch is in a convenient garage two blocks away). Plenty of cold air from the air conditioners and hot water in the showers between the two bathrooms. Just a side note....there is a flight and a half of stairs to the unit we stayed in. No problem for us but could be challenging for some with physucal disabilities. Definitely choose a lower unit instead. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Bonelli. The apartment had all the facilities we needed for our 5 night stay, we were able to cook meals, get our laundry done & relax on the balcony after each day of sight seeing. Additionally it was spotlessly clean, in a great location and Michela & Maurizio were wonderful, helpful hosts. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone planning a stay in Siena.

I had problems working the washing machine but Marcela came to the rescue and was most helpful.
The hosts were fantastic and thought of everything. They were so helpful and although the apartment is out of the main square it is easily accessible by walking for 10-15 mins. There is a beautiful garden for you to enjoy. a really nice touch when we arrived was a complimentary bottle of prosecco and croissants for the morning. A very nice touch. I would highly recommend staying here and if ever I get back to Siena we would definitely stay here. Marcela was most helpful with booking a taxi for our departure the next day.

I liked everything about the property, it was fantastic! The bed is super comfortable, the room is so dark when you need to sleep then beautiful and bright when you open the windows, kitchen really good, bathroom is fantastic. They provide body wash, water, tea and coffee and snacks. The owners are beautiful people, they even drove me to the bus station because there were no taxis available!
