It was a bit of a tight squeeze getting through the ancient gates with our modern car! The furniture and curtains , although sort of in keeping with the ambience, had, to be fair, seen better days! I love old buildings but some furnishing update would make a nice improvement without spoiling the character. Also the toiletries were rather ‘mean’ - a thin sachet of shower gel which was difficult to open! And a water bottle and glasses in room would’ve been nice - but we just took ours up from downstairs 😊 no problem. But only small details that would’ve made a big difference.

This is certainly a building of character! ( 16thCentury) We had a very large room and comfortable bed and could just see the sea through the other buildings around, and through the other window a fabulous view of the city and mountains. It’s a lovey location. Very near the promenade for a beautiful long walk. And up the road a fantastic park with very interesting art gallery and museum. We had dinner at the hotel both nights, which was tasty home cooked food and good value for money - in fact I think all the hotel residents did the same, as was full! There was even a place to park the car! I liked the stay very much and we will return.

This place has much more to offer than just an accommodation, it is absolutely extraordinary! The vibe, the history, you can feel it all. The frescoes, old floors, paintings on the walls. I had a room with amazing mountain view, facing the garden, you could hear birds chirping. The location is charming, it was my second time in Genova and I had an absolutely thrilling experience staying in Nervi (last time it was city center). Probably the best possible location I could have ever dreamt of, beautiful village, really close to train station and pedestrian promenade where you could walk by the sea. Neighbourhood is safe, calm and beautiful. The breakfast was delicous, the dining room with beautiful ceilling, located next to the garden. Service was super nice and you can absolutely feel the family atmosphere. Owners are doing an amazing job, and you can feel they put all their heart into this place Of course, the place could use some delicate renovations, especially the bathroom for example because of falling plaster on the ceiling in the shower. But the place is really clean. Honestly the condition of the bathroom didn't even bother me at the end at all, because the stay was an absolutely magical experience for me. And the vibe was completely worth it. I will definitely come back here one day, I had an amazing time and felt absolutely relaxed and recharged by staying there.

The bathroom needs serious maintenance, there were black mold marks everywhere and salty water destroyed part of the shower wall. It is fair to say though that I could notice that it wasn’t a cleaning issue

Location is very central you arrive in within minutes to the port. Staff is kind and attentive, and breakfast is superb

The rooms should have a refresh and the bathroom as well. I understood that they wanted to maintain the ceiling with the paintings, but sometimes, a refresh is needed.

Really nice staff, helpful and very polite. We had a half board stay, and to be honest we loved the food. Everything was really good and fresh.

The bed is not the best and our bathroom was really small. But these are hardly deal breakers. Also, be warned if you are driving that the gate to the parking area is very narrow. We rented an SUV and squeezed through with the mirrors in and just inches to spare.

This is a charming place to stay and only steps away from the port and sea walk which offer exception views. The staff were inviting and it was great to see the hustle and bustle at breakfast with all the other guests. Our room had access to the front balcony which was a great addition to the stay. The breakfast was a great spread and they have an in house cafe/ bar. This is a great stay for those wanting to visit Portofino and Genoa with a little less foot traffic around them. Nervi itself is a beautiful city.

No complaints at all. Just a couple of comments that might help others. The entrance gate is very narrow (although clearly getting bigger as some wing mirrors have taken some chunks out of it). We drove a Merc B class and this only fitted through by folding in the wing mirrors. Due to the age of the building there is no aircon but the building is naturally cool so was not a problem (end of May when we were there so quite warm outside).

A unique hotel in a superb location. If the normal bland chain hotel is not your thing, stay here and enjoy a wonderfully different experience. The staff (mainly all the family that run the place) were superb. Very friendly and welcoming. The decor is classic faded grandeur and not everyone will understand it (a couple of American guests made the comment about it needing renovation - oblivious to the fact the villa is older than America!) We had dinner at the hotel as had had a long drive and it was good old classic Italian home cooked simple food. All round a lovely, lovely experience.

The entrance for the car is very narrow but, this is part of this buildings charm. Pity that some of the frescos in the main hall had been whitewashed over.

A beautiful old villa in a great place for visiting the area (well worth a walk around). Lovely large terrace accessed from the room. The evening meal was superb and a good choice at breakfast. Staff were very helpful.
