Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis property is on a beautiful site on the east hills of Positano overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Positioned a mile vertical from the sea there is a staircase that goes all the way down to the water and the popular trail “path of the gods” nearby if you want to go for a morning hike. The host Giuseppe was so kind and makes amazing breakfasts each morning! He was so accommodating for directions or anything we needed.

United StatesLocation is in a nearby town above Positano named Nocelle. It's about a 25 minute bus ride (that runs every hour) down a mountain to Positano. We didn't mind, but it is something to keep in mind.
Giuseppe was an awesome host, he did it all! He gave us great tips to make getting around Positano easier and he was friendly with a great sense of humor. Breakfast was delicious on the beautiful terrace overlooking the coast. Beds were comfortable, shower water pressure was great, and we also had a fully stocked mini fridge with drinks! I highly recommend Villa Casola.

Such a beautiful property with such an amazing host. Giuseppe made the stay so special especially on my birthday. The views are incredible, the room was huge, clean & full of everything you’d need. An excellent location with a very frequent bus right next to the property which was easy to use and would take you straight to the centre of Positano. Overall an amazing property. Will definitely be coming back!

AustraliaVIlla Casola is has the most stunning views you could imagine. I just stared in awe from the balcony. We absolutely loved it there! The bus to and from town is fantastic, and Giuseppe was a fantastic host, friendly, carried my heavy bag up all the stairs and did so with a smile. He makes a great cappuccino too! We loved walking to the Path of the Gods, and finding animals and a gorgeous restaurant and cafe along the way. The beer and soft drinks in the fridge were such a nice surpriseThe resident dog at Villa Casola is a little dog called Gin (or maybe Jean?!) who we loved so much. We also loved the mule who sometimes waits at the bus stop, and the small heard of goats that go by in the morning. Nocelle is breathtakingly beautiful, I think if you go to Positano and don't stay in Nocelle, you're missing out! I'm still dreaming of that view.

United StatesNothing honestly. The Villa is in Nocelle, a ways above the center of Positano, which is a pro or con depending on your preferences.
We loved our stay at the Villa Casola. The property and room were beautiful, with views that are incredible. The breakfasts were great, and Giuseppe was a very kind and helpful host.

United StatesThe stairs were a little rough at first. The nearest restaurant and bus stop require many stairs, but it is what it is. You should bring snacks, drinks, and food so that you won't have to leave if you don't want to. They have a mini fridge with water, soda, and beer.
Guiseppi was cool/friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. It was great not having to search for my first meal of the day. Breakfast was served whenever I awoke. That view was outstanding! The Villa was relaxing. My terrace and room were huge! I had a 4-night stay, and I could have done a few more nights.

United StatesThere are steps up to the property(about 55) which wasn’t a problem for us.
The location is perfect for the spectacular views of Positano and for the close proximity to The Path of the Gods. Giuseppe met us at the bus stop and carried our luggage up the stairs to the B&B. The room was very large and clean…did I mention the view?!? So beautiful!

This property is located in a small village away from the bustle of downtown. It gives you a glimpse into local life on the coast. The staff was very friendly and helpful, gave me the number of a local driver that had better rates than most. Keep in mind you’ll have to catch the local bus to get here if if you want just walk down. Walking down took about the same time waiting for the bus/ ride took.

Czech Republicit would be nice to have a small stove next to the coffee maker for simple cooking.
Accommodation with a perfect view of Positano from the terrace, balcony and from the bed. The view exceeded my expectations. Beautiful large terrace with shower. It's amazing to watch the sunset here, when it's already sunset in Positano on the beach and the sun is still shining upstairs in the apartment. Positano is hectic, but here you will experience peace surrounded by beautiful nature and mountains. Nearby is a great restaurant again with a perfect view and service. Clean in all areas of the apartment. Guiseppe helped us with our suitcases, transport booking and offered us a welcome drink. Home-made breakfast with pizza and croissants every day. Coffee available all day. We highly recommend. Children 3 and 6 loved watching the little lizards.

AustraliaNot a negative, but guests need to be aware it is 6-7kms from Positano (25 mins by car depending on traffic) and maybe 30-40 mins by bus, which is an interesting adventure/ experience!
It was very peaceful and quiet, with amazing views over the Amalfi Coast down to Positano town center. Away from the hustle and bustle of Positano, and close to the Path of Gods walking trail. You will get a very pleasant and different feel of the Amalfi coast. Room was very clean and comfortable for 4 of us. We had the whole terrace to enjoy the views ourselves. Giuseppe was very helpful and he organized for luggage services to carry our heavy bags up the steps to the property.
