Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThere really was not anything i did not like. The only small improvement could be to trim (ie grass cut) the garden a bit? It could be nice with some lounge chairs and cut grass to enjoy your drinks after hike outdoors.
This is the second time we stayed. The property has a lot of history and the owner is part of the history. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The very best Nazzaro picked up beer from local store to make our arrival from the hike even better. He drove and arranged pickup to:from local restaurant. Breakfast had everything you wanted both salt and sweet, eggs and good coffee to set us up for the next day hiking. I keep coming back to Villa Cardinale, it is always a family feeling and warmth to the place.

NetherlandsThere is nothing to do in Poreta, but if you’re walking the St Francis way (which goes through Poreta) you really must stay at this place.
Nazaro is the best host you could want. I got the warmest welcome. The room was nice, everything was very clean, I loved the pillows (first time this week I didn’t wake up with pain in my neck from all the hard pillows in Italy). There is a common area with a fireplace, very cosy. Nazaro arranged food from Rosa for me and 2 other guests, which was delicious. The breakfast was also great; croissants, ricotta, primo sale, apricot pie, bread, olive oil; everything homemade and delicious.

NetherlandsNothing, was more than i expected. The information on booking is correct although it is not in the city Spoleto but in Poreta at the end of an official via di Francesco walk.
A wonderful stay at the Villa on my "Via di Francesco". The Villa is between Trevi and Spoleto in Poreta and is a great place to relax in rural italy after the busy Towns. Beautifull Villa with a very spacious room. The host is very helpfull and offered me the choice of either have a local make me a simple diner or bring me to a restaurant. I did chose the simple dinner (bread, tomato, egg, vegetable pie) which was a delight.

ItalyNazzaro was the perfect host! We hiked the Cammino di San Francesco and arrived in Poreta on Easter Sunday. He made sure we could have lunch in a local shop (which was closed) and drove us to a great restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh local products, and he even packed the leftovers for our hike. Our stay at Villa del Cardinale was truly an amazing Cammino experience.

ItalyVilla Cardinale is a stunning little b&b, located in a beautiful old big house 10min driving from of Spoleto city center. It’s a wonderful area, surrounded by nature and the courtyard is charming. The rooms are simple and clean, the owner is super nice, very friendly and professional, he took great care of us. United StatesEverything was perfect. We travel extensively, and rarely have we stayed someplace so beautiful, clean, and hospitable.
The building and grounds were beautiful, and the location close to the Via di Francesco was ideal. Our magnificent room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, as was everything throughout the house. Best of all, however, was the warm hospitality offered to us by our host, Nazarro, whose kindness, humor, and conversation made our stay unforgettable. He arranged a sumptuous vegetarian meal for our dinner, and sent us on our way in the morning with an exquisite breakfast of fresh pastries and bread, delicious fresh local cheeses, and the truly amazing ‘Crostate delle Signora Anna’ (an artisanal fruit tart), all served with perfectly brewed coffee. Nazarro made us feel so welcome that we are already planning our return visit. Staying at Villa del Cardinale is an experience not to be missed.

AustraliaNot a negative thing can be said about this ultimate host.
Nazzaro is an exceptional host, nothing was too much for him ensuring every comfort and requirement was met in advance. Nazzaro transported me from the train station to the BnB and back including transporting me to an excellent nearby restaurant for dinner. I would highly recommend Nazzaro to anyone travelling to that region. I can’t wait to go back.

United StatesA bit tricky to fibd the correct door.
Our host Nazzaro greeted us with a cup of tea, since we had a difficult day of walking before arriving. He was very sensitive to our needs. we enjoyed having a heat radiator that worked in May, and the towel warmer also was working. we stayed cozy in spite of the chilly and wet weather. Nazzaro also took us to a nice restaurant for dinner and one of the employees drove us home.
