Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything was great. We just wanted to stay longer.
Beautiful hotel, five min drive from the beach. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and made a huge effort to make our stay as lovely as possible. The restaurant does delicious food. There are towns such as Noto, Avola and Marzamemi each a short drive from the hotel.

FinlandRENT A CAR if you come here. You can't really get anywhere from the hotel area without a vehicle, which we didn't have. Pedestrians aren't really a thing in this area, so when you are walking to for example San Lorenzo, you walk on busy roads with high speed limits where two cars can hardly pass each other, meaning you really need to be careful to not get run over. Getting a taxi from the hotel is easy with the reception, but getting a taxi back there is another story.
Great breakfast, best we had in Italy. Nice comfortable villa with a big pool area.

FranceMy only regret is that I asked for a (very) late checkout (to keep the room until 4-5pm) and the only possible option was to pay for a full night whereas I would have been happy to pay an extra and spend the day at the pool, have lunch there etc... Which I feel would have been a win for everyone. But I also have to say they agreed to let me check out one hour later, for free, which was still appreciated
Very charming and quiet hotel Comfortable rooms Nice outdoor and swimming pool area Only 10 minutes from the centre of Marzamemi Good breakfast and food options at the pool

United KingdomThe Wi-fi provided by the structure is not working in certain areas of the hotel/facility; For example it was not working in our room which was a problem as we use it to plan our activities around the hotel/location when we travel to new places and we had to use our own data which is not ideal - I would suggest to the management of the hotel to fix this because in 2023 a 4 start hotel needs a top quality wi-fi service across all areas. The breakfast was very good but also very sweets-focused with limited savoury choices - as not everyone eats cake in the morning - I would suggest balancing 50-50 between sweets and savoury. The above are minor points as the rest of the experience was great.
Beautiful Hotel with great facilities and a great staff - loved the structure which is beautiful, loved the pool and the spacious and clean rooms - staff is very kind and always there to help. Structure has parking which is also very good. Overall we loved our stay. The hotel can also help you to book a nearby beach facility (Agua Beach) for a discounted price which was very useful to skip the lines at the facility when going to the beach - great bonus service!

NetherlandsWe just wish we could have used the pool, which looked inviting.
The staff were incredibly friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast was just superb, with freshly baked cakes, fresh fruit and a selection of bread and brioche and home made jams. The hotel just oozes atmosphere because it used to be a wine estate. Signs of this era are visible everywhere. We stayed just one night and booked a basic room, but it was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

Villa Guilia is perfect. This is the place for mature sophisticated travelers who love true luxury - a classy experience without the sophistry of faux luxury - of a beautiful environment, attentive but not cloying service, and spectacular food and wine (their own). Easy to explore baroque city of Noto delights from there and 7 minutes from San Lorenzo beach with white sand and water so clear one can watch fish swimming past. Quaint fishing village Marzamemi is also just around the corner. Be warned, you may never want to leave Villa Guilia...

United KingdomThe Hotel Villa Guilia was probably one of the most interesting hotels that we stayed in during our visit to Sicily. It is an impressive hacienda style building with small casitas located around the lovely grounds. Very nice and helpful staff. The outside dining and breakfast patio, looks out onto the swimming pool area. There is a large indoor dining room lined with old wine barrels, providing a rustic, but charming dining environment. The dinner was excellent, a true garden to table experience, with many wonderful vegetable dishes. The breakfast was probably the most impressive that we had enjoyed in Sicily, with lots of homemade pastries and pies. We would stay here again.

NetherlandsThe area is not great, not the most beautiful part of sicilly. There is a lot of garbage dumped on the side of the roads. Also people drive dangerously which is a bit concerning when you have kids in the car.
